It depends on how many points it gives you per stat.. If its only 1 point per purchase then im ok with it, as anyone with that amount of money to burn can continue to fund ESO's development for all i care lol

Not surprising; lots of people are asking for it.

I would not say it's p2w at all - it's p2not be knocked off your horse as easily, but that's not winning. You have to kill something to "win" and a faster or stronger horse doesn't help with that.

I am not concerned about P2W. They are bypassing yet another gold sink from the game. It is not a big one, but horse riding training accounts for several thousand gold to maximize.

This is a great game, but it is still sliding downhill.

I mean, by the way this reads you are buying points, circumventing the cool down for mount stamina / capacity / speed.

Not sure I'm feelin this Crown Store item.

Usually people don't literally mean you automatically "win" when they say pay-2-win. This is like the argument for bolt escape saying "it has escape in its name, so a sorc should get to escape from any battle, anytime, as far as they need to go in order to escape." - Not everything is so literal.

The 'win' part means you can use money to bypass game restrictions, so that someone that does not spend that money cannot do. Now, I don't know how these books will work, so I won't say a lot personally. But if you can level up your horse to max for a few dollars when someone else has to wait 60+60+60 days to level up their horse in the game, then it would qualify. Now if they removed the once a day limit on horse feeding in game for those with the gold, then all would be even.

oh yes it is.

60 speed and 60 stamina is a HUGE lifesaver in PvP.

Paying real money to bypass time and gold sinks is pretty P2W in my opinion.

Someone who plays the same amount as me gets a faster, sturdier horse in less time by paying real money.

That's kind of how I feel. Ya, I might consider something like this or even speeding up crafting research as P2W, but you know what? The current mechanics are so bad that we kind of need it.

I am sorry but baloney. Reason being is that to have Max stats we would have had to play daily for 150-180 days - and now after all that it is just buy it with cash?

Sounds pretty p2w to me. If you can buy instantly what I had to play to get - how is that not p2w??

If your brand new horse is as fast as mine that took 50-60 days per stat - I consider that a slap. Same goes for if you have Max stats when we had to spend 50 (before) or 60 days on it.

If people keep letting the bar slip - we'll just end up spilling all the booze.

Cannot have that.

Since you can get to 60 without using the shop, its not P2W. P2W is a term used for content that a player can not get while playing.

Examples are,

char slots, profession slots, Bank slots, access to dungeons or pvp ...

motifs - not really
XP potions - if they effect CP gains, yes, they are 100% P2W and only an idiot would argue that.
Scrolls and possibly this - inbetween, they are the start of crossing the line between P2W and convenience.

I am certain it will be like high end Motifs such that the Crown Store will be better than what you can do in the game.

The poor sots that play the game and train up with gold will take 180 days to fully train and will spend 45,000 gold to do it. Along comes the Crown Store and those people will be able to use it right away and as fast as they can punch "buy" on the Crown Store dialog.

Edit: They are doing this very clever. They are not selling max level characters in the Crown Store. Unlike Blizzard, they came up with something more profitable. Why sell a max level character when you can make several sales to get max level abilities. No need to wait until crafting rank 9 for the top end motifs, you can have them as soon as you can access the Store, possibly even in the cell in the Wailing Prison. Same for horses, if they do it the same way, you can walk about the door maxed out on horse riding. Why sell a VR 14 in one purchase when you can sell it in a bunch of little purchases?
