Endgame?

Maybe I'm just one of those people who never gets satisfied. Maybe I missed something, or maybe the game is just lacking.. Maybe this is the reason why I have to kick 30+ inactive members from my two trading guilds every day. Because people are leaving ESO?

It feels like I've hit a wall. It looks to me like ESO has no rewarding end game, no incentive to do anything really.

I remember when I reached vr14 and used all of my gold/silver keys. I remember when I did my first CoA and other vet dungeon farming runs. In both cases I found nothing of value to me.. Every item would completely ruin my build and for what? a 5% chance to summon a fire breathing daedroth?

So, what do I do as vr14?

- Do I play PvP? No. It feels so darn casual....
Why doesn't damage per death, damage taken per death, healing per death or anything remotely skill related play a part in PvP leaderboards? It isn't competetive at all and is mainly about time spent. You get points when you are lying dead on the ground, enough said? And when it isn't competetive, as a very minimum it has to be FUN. But it isn't even fun, riding my horse 90% of the time!

- Do I find a group to get good scores on PvE leaderboards? No, I tried spamming chat for good groups for hours, I'm not lucky enough to find that good group. I'm probably lacking CP aswell.

- Do I farm dungeons to get better gear? No, because like I mentioned earlier there is no gear worth farming obviously.

- Do I do daily quests? please No, I've done millions of quests already.

Right now I'm grinding alts, hoping for a better end game in the future.

Can someone tell me I'm wrong? What did I miss? Where is the fun?

It's an MMO, and so far as I'm aware MMOs don't have endgames. Would kind of defeat the purpose of an MMO, which is designed to keep players coming back to the game.

Yah, forums are where the competitive PVP is at. As to the rest, none of that stuff is going to be different for months, they haven't even discussed a quarter for new content. As to farming the current stuff, there are only 1 or 2 trials guilds on EP side worth bothering with and you likely won't get a stable spot in either unless you can sustain 20k+ single target dps on vet content bosses. If you just want to see the trials a lot of guilds do those for the weekly, and some of the content is good, sanctum has some fun fights if you've never seen them before.

ESO's endgame isn't very strong. I think a lot of the players came over thinking in terms of higher profile MMOs, like the obvious WoW, where end-game is the goal - you quest or grind until you hit it, because that's where the real game is.

ESO is not intended to be like that. They want to build a world - questlines, fully-voiced NPCs, returning characters, quest choices that range from short-term to Alliance-long.
If you rush through the world environment purely for end-game content, of course you're going to be disappointed. It's like taking a warp whistle to the credits.

DSA/vDSA are the best end game content that has been developed. The rest lacks strong design elements to the fights that require more than moving out of stupid and doing decent dps. The needs to use basic skills such as interrupts and presenting personal and group challenges (other than putting out DPS and movement) is not in end game content.

With that, nothing new has come out in 6 months with nothing on the near horizon. Nothing expected in the next few months making it appear that there will be a 9 to 12 month drought for end game content. Considering that the amount of end game content we have after 1 year is less than comparable games it is disappointing. The more active and strong players I have been running with are playing less and some have stopped playing for now.

This game appeared to be one prepared to provide quality content once they worked through the bugs that were in the game at launch and a promise of new content being added. While they have done a superb job at working out many of the kinks, they have unfortunately demonstrated a lack of vision for content and creativity with the content they did establish.

Haven't you heard? Endgame now consists of parking your VR14 you've invested so much time into and creating an alt to play on the non-veteran PvP server.

Why? Because it's FUN to play non-veteran PvP.

That's where end game is right now.
Been here since Feb 2014 - You'd think I'd be half reasonable at this game by now...

The new city/zone is planned, announced and being worked on as well as talked about in the trade shows/streams.
They have a lot of plans (which is great!) the first most being the consoles.
I dont have a console but i'm fine with that. Console players kinda got screwed with the pushed-back release date.
Let's give the console peeps some love.

We'll get more pve content down the road.

ESO is more about the journey than RUSHING into the end content. If you rush there, you're gonna be standing around bored.
If you go back to visit content you missed, you'll be well overleveled for it and it wont be challenging - thus boring to you.

Endgame content is unrewarding and not even worthwhile in ESO. I just have my fingers crossed that there will be something worth doing added soon as well as some changes to what is already here to make it more worth spending time on, and more rewarding.

No that's WoW - you're confused. Any game where I LITERALLY log on, in my garrison, stand in front of a table, send followers out on missions and raids, get raid loot, and then log off - that's messed up. It's an extension of the Farm in the MoP expansion, where u logged on and (LITERALLY) tended your lil farm. I was sleepy one day and thought I was on my wifes Facebook Farmville site.

If only.. the world is strikingly beautiful but shallow and pointless. Once you're done with one area of the world, one area of the map, its still full up with the little rollercoaster park ride you just got on rode around.. the ride doesn't dismantle itself and provide you with a world to put yourself in just because you're done.. the same ride.. that you can't go on again.. is still built there, taking up space, its almost like a border saying.. here are the boundaries of the ride, you've been here, the quest turned in, now don't go back there because the ride is still running for other people.

And of course there's a neverending stream of park employees ushering you onto the next ride. Sometimes you look back to the ride you were on and think, bye, shame i'll never see you again. Bye.

I tried to just go and be in the world also.. but for some reason.. there comes this spooky sensation of 'you're doing it wrong', like ghosts from the rides you've already done are chasing you on.. its like being at a graveyard of content than at a party of new things to do.

Crafting writs are great though.. they actually give crafting a point.. before you get to whatever point that other people seem to have found that i haven't where making your own gear is actually worth the upgrade mat cost of doing so.

You've described every mmo on the planet.
    Quests drive MMOs.

Did you know there are add-ons where you can turn off all of the NPCs names/titles?
"Why?" you ask. So you can enjoy the environment. You walk up some people and talk to them.
Maybe they are a quest giver - maybe they aren't.
    There are lots of quests.

I often go back to areas I've cleared. Maybe I need some mats from that area (metal/herbs), or maybe I want to do some dolmens in that area. Or perhaps I need some cooking ingredients and the game meat in Malabal Tor is very tasty.

You get out of a game (or anything) only what you put into it.

The thing is what is rewarding for one isnt for all. Theres people who are willing to play 10 hour per day to get what they want and then theres people who want rewarding stuff for 2 hour of playing.

Ive learned to play MMOs slowly, on and off playing is the best way. Luckily we have good enlightment system here, so you dont need to play every day.

Well we can thank blizzard for the so call "endgame" before WoW the was nothing call endgame like we are use to have today back in 2004 when you hit lvl 60 in WoW you did have much of end game you was run dungeon to try get blue gear so you could on with raid and if you did do that you was hang around in Orgrimmar or in Ironforge talk to friend, guild member or people in channel or you did some PvP back then it was not much in way of "endgame" just like we have in ESO now.

The "endgame" i think people are think off is new content, dalies, new dungeon with better gear but as you say GreySix a true MMO dont really have much off endgame.
