ESO Guild Village Suggestion - Please Read!

Imagine if your guild was allowed to build a Village, like Skyrim's Hearthfire, but larger. It wouldn't be in the main realm, but in a space that only members of your guild could teleport to. You could start a farm, build a communal town hall, or even your own house. It would be a place that your guild could use for trading and such. Like in Skyrim, you would need to either craft or buy the correct pieces for a blueprint, and you would get to plan out your city in the way you want. The space would be limited, but you could unlock more space with a small amount of Crowns or a large amount of Gold.

Wouldn't that be fun?

    What's the point?

So you make a town, what do you do with it?

What was the point with Hearthfire, then- It would be even more fun if you could create a communal space for your guild.

    You can't answer my questions?

I saw some utility with Hearthfire, and that was storage, centralized crafting stations too. Other than that, the rest was just fluff and useless.

What would be the point of this village?

We already have centralized crafting and storage in quite a few places in this game. Plus they're not just going to give us more ways to store things, as they want us to grind the time and gold it takes to upgrade our account banks.

It's not hard to communicate and meet up with my guild mates, especially since there is a feature that lets me travel to the closest wayshrine of anyone that is on my guild's roster.

...What was the point with Hearthfire, then- It would be even more fun if you could create a communal space for your guild.

What Thymos tried to say (correct me if I'm wrong) is that ZOS won't add this kind of feature just because it would be fun to build some constructions, it also should be useful and meaningful.

In other words, your idea is not a bad one, but you need to elaborate more! :)

Now if they added some brand new guild systems and progression, then I could see this as being something slated in the future, but after they have built the framework of a guild progression system.

I think the idea is really cool :) in my opinion...

it would give players the opportunity to be a bit creative too and make your own little village and home...

they village would be the same as the housing for a single player..

there is sth like that in swtor already btw... it's the guild-flagship and there is also the guild-stronghold

it's for fun :) that's the main point for those who don't see a point...

    Cheers :)

Fun? In ESO? Perish the thought. Didn't you know that we all just play ESO so that we can come to the forums later and tell everybody else that their ideas are stupid?

How dare you suggest that something should be added to the game for fun?!? What do think this is, some kind of game?

I'd like to see this too. Maybe some sort of small island that a guild can purchase if they want to. It would be one instance for that guild, with a central guild hall of some sort (maybe with a banker, NPC merchants, etc), and any guild member who wanted to could go and buy a plot of land on the island to build on. Maybe when buying a plot of land, some of the gold goes to the game (well, vanishes really), and a percentage of the price of the plot goes to the guild bank. Make the island alliance-neutral territory so that if you want to go and hang out with guildies on your DC character you can, and you may run into guildies who are on their EP or AD characters.

Heck, if ZOS really wanted to get ambitious about it, there could even be a setting where the guild master can choose to have an event start on the island - maybe a daedric invasion, a pirate raid, or something, so that all of the guildies present can fight together to defeat it (and get some sort of rewards for being successful). Giving people a chance to fight alongside the characters their guildies have in other factions might be fun.

Edit: or maybe the initial purchase of the island unlocks just a small town area (with a wooden palisade maybe), while the rest of the island is a dangerous wilderness, and the events that the guild master can initiate are how the rest of the island is cleared of enemies and opened up for more settlement, until eventually after a number of guild events the whole island is tamed, and has all of the amenities and space of a large city.

I'm not against it being done by guilds...but what about people like me, who want nothing to do with a guild? Are we tossed aside?

No. Unless it includes everyone, including those guildless by choice or force, it doesn't need to be in the game.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

No. Unless it includes everyone, including those guildless by choice or force, it doesn't need to be in the game.
By that logic there shouldn't be any group-only content, or any solo-only content. It's OK for not everything in the game to cater to every type of player. If you choose not to be in a guild, that's your choice. If there's part of the game that can only be accessed by being in a guild, then you have chosen not to access that.

Having said that, there's no reason why there couldn't be something like this for guilds along with something similar that's unrelated to guilds.
