I agree, she didn't say a definitive no, everything is subject to change as we know with this game

As we know it is with life as well. Nothing is ever certain but death. The only logical consequence would be to stop worrying about each and any unlaid eggs, but that seems not to befit the basic human condition.

Philosophical ramblings aside, of course they can make any business decision they want to. If the pros outweigh the cons, why not? Platform exclusiveness is far from being new, and it's here to stay. My guess is that the vast majority of gamers don't even mind, and that those who cry foul the loudest are the first to buy everything as soon as it becomes available to them anyway. Much ado about nothing.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom, could you comment on the OP's question regarding what s/he calls "timed exclusivity"? In other words, will ZOS release content to the consoles before PC's? Or, will content become available to both console and PC at the same time? Thank you.

Agree. I'm curious to see if the OP will actually be answered. If they do intent to do it, obviously it would not be good business to tell the pc players ahead of time that consoles will get the content earlier than we will, especially after making us wait for it longer than expected because "console focus".
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

And if she had said "we won't do this, ever" you would have called her a liar, because she can't possibly make such promises about future decisions by the company. If you're just looking for reasons to vent your anger, do it openly. Don't bash the community managers for actually giving a quick, straight and honest answer to a question.

The answer is dubious because the OP asks about one thing and the answer given is about something else. He didn't ask about exclusive content for consoles, he asked if they would get it first....so the answer wasnt "quick, straight and honest". It's not bashing to point that out.

I can't ever imagine ZOS doing timed exclusive DLC for the consoles considering the outcry it would cause from the PC users. If they completely wanted to alienate the PC crowd, that would be a good way to do it. My household subscriptions would end that day if it ever happened.

When Bethesda Softworks did this with Skyrim DLC, I decided that if I was a second class consumer by not being on the Bethesda Softworks preferred console, that I would not purchase BGS games or DLC at full price. I am second class, I should not pay first class prices.

Therefore, as much as I am looking forward to the new Fallout game that I expect them to announce, I will not pre-order it nor will I buy it for more than 75% of full price. I expect that they will have exclusive deals and I expect that I will be second class. I will not purchase DLC for the game for full price if I am blocked by marketing exclusives.

How this relates to ZOS and ESO is that I am currently an ESO Plus member and I am paying a first class price for the game, voluntarily and probably in excess of their expectations of B2P+Cash Store. Should exclusives pop up that make me a second class ESO customer, then I won't be paying first class. I need to pay nothing to play the game, everything past that initial purchase is voluntary. If I am a second class customer, I will spend money in accordance with this value and refuse to pay full price. If it never goes on sale, then I will simply do without.

The statement by Jessica satisfies me, at least as far out as the known DLC extend. At any time they can change their mind, and that is fine because I already know what my response will be. They need to do what is right for their business, and I will do what I feel is right for me.

Just like how ESO was never going to move form the subscription model, or how we can have hundreds of players on screen at the same time in PvP.

It's kind of hard to trust even definitive statements at this point. I lost all trust once the game went B2P. IF it makes more money, that's what they are going with. It doesn't matter what they say or said previously.

Everything is going to be answered with "currently" or "at this time", because they know they don't have the balls anymore to stand by any mission or integrity they were shooting for originally. It's all about the cash shop now.

    God I hate B2P/F2P.

Your self-imposed restraint is commendable, but when taken into perspective, mostly harmless. For every customer who refrains from pre-ordering, there are ten who don't give a damn.

I seriously doubt that they divide their customers into classes. They're not in the transportation business. As far as they are concerned, everyone who earns them money is their customer, no matter how high the revenue they bring. So that class thing is based on your perception, not on their business plans.

That being said, these kind of deals will continue to happen, no matter what. Those customers who get short-lived "benefits" from such deals far outweigh those who feel belittled by them. And a business will always follow the most promising opportunities to earn money, as long as the outcome is a net positive. Those customers who don't agree are too few a number to influence that outcome by much.

He was asking if x-box or p-station could be getting content 30 to 60 days earlier than PC as well, so you have answered the first part of his question... unless getting the content early is part of your "exclusives" remark?

M$ and $ony may bark about DLCs having horrible bugs to the point that they require beta testing via PC before allowing a DLC on the virtual shelves. For now, I will let the console players think everything is OK.
