Isn't the first time DC's done it, won't be the last.

Not this time, Grips. There's an EP crew that night caps all of Azura's on the regular. It's been a more heated competition than you give it credit for; only recently the EP has stopped fighting during the day and instead fighting elsewhere. Also sounds like something EP did on Thornblade until they had to be scared off a server they were nightcapping.

I remember the Chillrend/Thornblade back and forth well. We were one of the first non-TB affiliated guilds to switch to TB to try to even it out.
At the same time, let's not forget the final results. In the end, we went from 2 active servers, to one and a dead/buff server. No one was served by those actions and the guilds that stayed on Chillrend to turn it into a buff server have a lot to answer for for their actions that did so much to make this game worse.

Meh South-Georgian zergs gonna zerg. The reds should have stayed on Thorn; it would have never happened otherwise. The yellow that was on Chillrend did the same thing; they up and left when they were the ones keeping it heated. This game has supported my theory that many (most?) MMO players will actively seek non-competitive ways to "win" at competitive contests.

I admit, I find the current meta of 'run away to a server that has less competition' vaguely stupid.
OTOH, Blackwater's a hell of a lot of fun.
Killing ppl in open world PvP is bullying? Care bear much?bloodenragedb14_ESO wrote: »im a roleplayer and a pve'er, ill go where-ever there are less gankers. its a filthy, abhorrent practice that i refuse to support by engaging them. best thing to do is ignore them, and convince others to ignore them. when they are no longer getting kills, they will leave for greener pastures. filthy bullies
That's because the game's setup in such a way that it gives empires "buff" servers, and everybody wants their stupid buff server. I honestly think that's the worst part about PVP and influences empires to jump ship rather than offer GOOD incentives to stay to a campaign.Agrippa_Invisus wrote: »I admit, I find the current meta of 'run away to a server that has less competition' vaguely stupid.

If I had a nickel for every time I ran into a ganker or a team of gankers, I'd have a sh**-ton of nickels.bloodenragedb14_ESO wrote: »im a roleplayer and a pve'er, ill go where-ever there are less gankers. its a filthy, abhorrent practice that i refuse to support by engaging them. best thing to do is ignore them, and convince others to ignore them. when they are no longer getting kills, they will leave for greener pastures. filthy bullies

There's literally ZERO reason to stick to a server where you're the underdog. None. Following the buff server crowd rewards you, even if there's no fight to fight.

That's what I'd like to know too.
Where did everyone go?
They left the game. The lag problem is worse than ever, ZOS are doing nothing, and PvP is losing its few remaining players. The non-vet campaign still has some real action, but it's only one campaign, serving a few hundred die-hard enthusiasts on either side of the Atlantic. The population in PvP is now so small that they might need to reduce the number of regular campaigns even further. That's what I'd like to know too.

Misfitz and Decibel (and probably more) guilds moved to Azura.
Now AD has a 2x lead in Azura and the server is dead & yellow map (most of the time).

Actually all that changed in thorn was my group stopping the ep night capers.
AD plays with less pop then EP until they all run to another campaign. So AD gets the map. Previously EP would then night cap to regain their buffs, but no more.
I went to chillrend for 15 mins the other day, and the pvdoor group did a 50/50 on Arrius when they found out I left. They where swiftly dealt with by 5 ppl vs 20.

I spent one night on TB. LAst night. We capped glade and ales and then bleakers. Once we capped bleakers a group of about 6-8 AD engaged us. We wiped them twice. We had maybe 8-12 at any given time. Ad finally showed up with x3 our numbers plus their emp and slaughtered us. Half my group quit. I whispered the emp and his response was "bring more DC". This is the attitude. This is the face of pvp anymore. Nobody really wants to fight-they only want to own an entire map. Ad/ep. potato/potahto.

Well first off I am the emp you speak of, and I did not got to bleakers last night. I went to nikel, but because I must defend the smiley face (BRK, Ash and anything south). This is just how you defend a map. I was not at Aleswell or Bleakers, and I would have not responed to Chal if you went there (I don't control the pugs though). I want more DC in the server. I have never personally went to any of your relic keeps. The only time I was ever in the area was to intercept some red getting your scroll.
I told you to bring more DC because that is what I genuinely want. My goal is to break TB of being a buff server. I have done what I view as the first step by stopping the pvdoor night capers. Now we need a a competitive DC population to come into the server. After that I would then probably look for 1 or 2 smaller competitive EP guilds to come in. It may look misguided to you, but this is my goal.
