You can have much much more than 2 mill per character.

Somebody on the boards said we were capped at 2,000,000 per character, so that is what I am basing it on. Not sure as I have not even come close. Just finished my bank and horse upgrades two/three weeks ago, that took most all the gold I had left at the time. I now have 350,000 in the bank and some more spread across my characters, so 400K total. Not too bad in two or three weeks.

Gold is not an issue in this game. And, there is nothing to really spend it on.

I'm getting close to 600k myself; really just off of playing the game every day (mostly) for the (almost) year I've had it.
Cyrodiil quests aren't a bad way to get some easy gold and xp to boot, if anyone's looking for tips.

2,147,483,647 should be the gold cap, as it is the highest 32 bit unsigned integer. This has come up before.

I have 6k. I spend my gold on crafting supplies sometimes, some on repairs. Most of my gold sinks into recipes, motifs or bank/bag space.

This is stated elsewhere by a dev as well, nearly a year ago. My friend is over 2 mil, and trying for 3. Point is why? Nothing worth spending it on.... he even says so himself.

I recently started making an effort to earn more gold. I thought I was doing pretty good but it looks like I have much to strive for.

I go around guild vendors buying all the under-priced goods I can find and resell the stuff in my trading guilds. I went a little overboard this morning, I found a lot of good deals and spent all my gold on stuff I intend on reselling. All in all, I spent about 450k in the last day and a half and expect about 600k-700k return on it. So I'm sitting on about 30k gold but typically sell around 50k-100k a day. I just recently started upgrading my bank again (at 200 slots now) so a lot of my gold goes into that.

I have 2.1 million and counting. Not really trying to make money, but I hate to sell things to vendors that will sell well in guild stores. Also, as stated, there is not much to spend on, so it just accumulates. I've been using it to fill holes in my recipes, and may get some end game gear.

I have like 4k total. I have been spending my gold on temper upgrades for my armor and weapons as at VR3 I cannot use Galatanium( or whatever it is) and have been upgrading my Calcinium armor and swords. I'm up to purple now. But the temper materials are kind of pricey, and you never obtain enough from deconstructing drops to be able to upgrade and are forced to scour the guild stores. (Hint, hint, ZOS!)

I spend most of my gold to repair walls in Cyrodiil and respecs. I think I have about 16k, right now; in a few days I'll be back over 100k.

BUILDS

You wanna try some builds and have 2mil. There is nothing to stop you. When you are poor, you are stopped because almost everything in the game can be purchased, apart from Bound gear.

With so much gold coming into the game and nothing to 'use' it on. Martial Knowledge and other 'sets of the month' and now going for insane amounts of gold.

We need a BIG gold sink... Like trait change tokens.
100k gold to buy a token which allows you to change the trait on one item to another trait. (or 1000 crowns to do the same thing)

So many players which maxed bank spaces, and sitting on a few million gold.

I think what happens is, people make there veteran 14 legendary armor and weapons.... Then they have nothing else to spend it on so they just keep getting more money.

Also, I'm sure the cap is something like 999,999,999. Most games will actually set there cap at a certain number and none of that binary stuff. Highly doubt anyone will ever get 999,999,999, but they could increase it if they wanted too, but no sense in doing that. The binary is probably the highest they could increase it too, but again no reason to make it that high.

I'm only lvl 23 and I have like 25k gold, once you get to veteran 14 and all gear is set to legendary, you really don't have anything else to spend gold on..... So it accumulates... Pretty much how it is in GW2 (get full exotics, don't spend gold on anything else but stuff for legendary weapon and gems... This game really is not that much of a difference from GW2, besides the fact this game has no ultra special gold sinking weapon you strive for).

Now... If this game ran like GW2... Gold to Gem conversion/ Gold to crown conversion... Stuff worth buying in crown store too... Then you'd see a decrease in gold.. However GW2 also has gems to gold/ crowns to gold conversion as well.

If I had billions of gold I would be buying tons of high end materials and rare set gear. Just making one legendary set alone is like over 200k in tempers.

Would love to know how some people have broken the million gold mark, I'm only at a little over 200k. No, "just play the game and sell loot" isn't the vague answer I'm looking for.
