If there was player housing/ if it arrives . . . what would your housing preference be?

Something classy, like a Riften/Solitude House or the Vile Manse without the underground daedric crap.

But not a stereotypical gigantic mansion with like five floors and tons of rooms.

So wasn't really sure to vote moderate or mansion.

While Des would totally buy a mansion and show it off at every possible chance, M'arrin would probably settle for something smaller and more modest.

I went for other as although I agree with the "Moderate house with some key furnishings" I personally do not want to see crafting stations at our homes. What I would love to see is a larger version of the LOTRO neighbourhoods with a central market/crafting area in each, you could craft there, have personal vendors there, neighbourhood quests, perhaps even work together as a community to add other things to your neighbourhood. I really want housing but I do not want it to cut everyone off from each other and I think this is the best way to achieve that aim.

The house itself should be personal and allow a large number of items that can be placed anywhere so we can really decorate as we see fit. I love the idea of being able to expand with different rooms, floors, basements etc. within our plot rather than all having the same exterior. Outside garden items would be great, perhaps some items that have a chance of spawning crafting materials (not sure how this would work alongside hirelings) though, just things that can allow us to be creative.

I would want an secluded tower on the coast, built into the mountainside with a nice basement for storage, thick walls for defense and heat regulation, plain on the outside, but nicely furnished inside, and strong magical wards making bandits and such avoid the place... a cookfire aside, no crafting stations needed, I can always go to town for that.

I would personally prefer something moderate, but maybe with the ability to buy something bigger.

I think you should start by being able to buy a small/moderate home, with customize-able interior.
You should then either be able to upgrade or buy a bigger house once you reach a certain level or achievement.

I would love to see housing get its own skill line/crafting > so you can craft different styles of furniture, depending on your abilities, like with Racial Motifs for armor and weapons.

The small/moderate houses should have the possibility to have all crafting stations, but maybe with a limit of three > so that you have to choose which three crafting stations you want.
Then in the upgraded/bigger house you are able to have all crafting stations, and maybe even another perk, such as bank access.

These are just my thoughts. I'll be happy just to get a home

I'm not asking for a lot. Just my own small pocket of Oblivion, with a personal portal to summon.

The pocket realm could be on loan from Meridia as a reward for the main quest. The game could even allow us to pick some other favorite Daedric prince as landlord among a few relevant ones that are reasonably benign and can be bargained with, like Sheogorath, Hircine, Sanguine, Azura, Boethiah, even Hermaeus Mora for us death-defying bookworms. Molag Bal might not want to have us as tenants willingly after what we do to him in the main quest, but we could sneak in while he is licking his wounds for years to come and steal a place similar to the Village of the Lost, somewhere not in Coldharbour proper but close to it.

Mansion every time! My main is altmer nobility and is used to a large house full of servants (and slaves). I always used mansion mods for him in the other ES games.

Even in Minecraft, I build huge, rambling mansions!

I'm a thief and a rogue so I want to stay low key, but still show off my wealth and success a little bit on the inside. I'd love to live in a natural home, maybe classic argonian style, or something of the like. Maybe in a cave that has been hollowed out and built up to be a comfy luxurious home. Maybe something in between. Basically a safe place where no guards would find me.

I would have gone with the first option but I really don't want crafting stations in my home. What I would dearly love to see are castles in all the racial styles for GUILDS. Then, within those awesome castles, I would like a wing that has several doors that serve as "entrances" to the "private chambers" of guild members. These chambers would only be able to be entered by the owner and anyone they grouped with and they could use them as their private residences and expand and decorate them as they saw fit. Within the castle that is accessible to all guild members (and anyone they group with to bring in for a visit) I'd want to be able to place trophies, have bards and other servants, pets, and the ability to place USEABLE furniture and decorations. I'd like these guild castles to be inside a walled city and outside I'd like there to be a stable, an arena for 1v1 up to say 10v10 PVP WITH your guildies, and practice dummies that give you the damage stats you need to calculate what works best for you. And, again, I'd like ot be able to place NPC servants and bards outside as well and NPC guards also.

While I prefer lore-friendly housing (if any), I cannot help but be awed by the implementation of player housing last I played RuneScape. RuneScape uses the alternate dimension method for player housing, and it allows players to build as small or large a complex as desired. Complex, because there were more than rooms available for construction: players could build dungeons, mazes, arenas and populate them with enemies, traps, and loot that regularly respawn. It makes my eye twinkle when I can design my own dungeon.
