When We Will Get A Content Update?

Did they think they have more time because of the CP grind or something? Been a very long while since we last heard of the Dark Brotherhood or Thieves Guild. Would be nice to get some new armor / weapon styles soon....

It looks like they are more concerned with patches and fixes to existing content right now. Not to mention console release.
DLC will likely be announced after console release and be added to all platforms around the same time. Since the console releases are going to have their own fair share of issues and bugs they will likely spend another few months working on those. Any content updates will probably be months down the road, unfortunately.

This is all just speculation but it's a fairly valid conclusion.

Yes, they are focused ( Why did the blonde stare at the orange juice carton? It said concentrate) on console, release. I would imagine it's a mad house trying to finish everything up before ship date.

I suspect that ZOS is focusing on polishing the console versions as much as possible before launch day. As much as I enjoy this game I must admit that it was a buggy mess when it was first released and that led to some very unfavorable reviews. Consoles are where Skyrim made the bulk of its money and Zenimax needs the same to happen for ESO before committing further resources to additional content. I would be upset had they not dropped the subscription fee. One can always unsubscribe from ESO plus and resubscribe after substantive new content is released.

The more money ZOS makes from the console versions the better the PC version will ultimately be (in theory at least).

We also received some new pets along with the motifs.

There are nine days remaining in the month so there is still plenty of time for ZOS to fill the Crown Store with even more new content.

Don't you mean, when will we get an update we're content with?

Probably around the time Frabjous Day is recognized as a national bank holiday.

Cash shops are, in general, not considered valid content updates in MMOs. Players are expecting real content, not convenience and cosmetic items. If you're happy with that than congratulations, but I don't think that's what this topic is about.

Console version should have been worked on by whole different team. They relaunched game as B2P, then made trial weekend and it will all be for nothing. By the time they finally release anything the people who came back will be long gone.

Oh, I am fully aware of that fact. I have been blasting ZOS since the January cash shop announcement because it was patently obvious real content would be shelved in favor of garbage pushed to the cash shop to swindle the whales. The cash shop is undoubtedly a major reason why real content like the Imperial City was not included in Update 6.

I have not made a single purchase in the cash shop and I hope others are performing a similar boycott. If people stop buying this fluff, then maybe ZOS will finally wisen up and start working on things we actually want from them.

I apologize. I received the wrong impression from your post.
Personally, I was so disappointed with the beta that I refused to purchase the game until after seeing the updates in the promotional weekend. I have now purchased the game but I refuse to subscribe or purchase crowns under the current conditions.
I may purchase the PS4 version once it is stable, however I will continue to refuse paying for anything else until the subscription model is altered or they begin adding content to justify the cost.

They have stated multiple times that 1.6 was the last major upgrade until sometime after the console versions are released. I do not expect anything content wise until at least September 2015 and that is being very optimistic. :'(

If you read the previous posts we both have handled it quite maturely and gotten on the same page. Thank you for your input, but please try to be more observant before calling me out on something. Nothing has been contributed to this topic because of it.

I barely expect something to even be announced until then. I have zero hopes of anything being released.

TBH boycotting can hurt the game as well. If people do not buy the fluff that is in there now then Zos is going to put something in there that no player can resist. A new item they will boost player skills and the game will become pay 2 win or they may put more hard to get items in shop for people buy them and we do not want that again.

The only reason I am using my crowns up is because there is no way to transfer them from Pc to the console version and bought a subscription thinking that it will which sucks but crown bought items do transfer. So once the console versions comes out in June, I am going to say bye to the pc version.

    Umm...

As someone who's been paying a sub for a year (recently cancelled) I can tell you that if they didn't use revenue from subs to develop new content, they sure as heck aren't going to use revenue from the cash shop to develop new content.

Most likely what they will do is use revenue from the cash shop to develop new cash shop stuff.

Accurate. If cash shop items become the primary means of income than they will make this a priority and disregard adding new content to the game entirely. Why add more content if everybody is blowing through crowns and making them rich?

They've been developing 6+ New areas. Yes, full areas, like Craglorn. They're going to be released periodically after the release of the console ports (which, won't be long).

Imperial City is already being prepped for release. A bunch of stuff, not noted in the patch notes (such as sewer entrances around the lake) have been added to the game. Orsinium will soon follow as the first Paid DLC.

IIRC, they want both of these out before the end of summer. (I'll try to find the stream they said this in.

    Proof?

The patching and ZOS employees communicating with us on the forums definitely appear to indicate they are making an effort. Console release seems to be taking priority at this time, which in understandable.
If the console copies sell well they should be able to start devoting more time/ resources into more PC fixes and new content for all platforms.

I'm at the "I'll believe it when I see it" stage with content updates.

Now that they're at the B2P & Crown Store method, and there hasn't been a significant introduction of content for a long time, I'll just wait until there's a good reason to spend more cash on the game.

So far, all we have is speculation - and without communication from ZOS giving an actual timeline of releases it's anyone's guess as to what/when/how, etc.
TL;DR - If you got this far without reading the entire post you're either too lazy or suck at reading comprehension and probably don't belong in a public forum anyway. Just move along, you wouldn't understand.

ZOS has been saying they are working on new content for almost 10 months now and they have not turned over any of it. ZOS talks a good game but they have failed completely to back up those words with actions. How much longer do they have to continue making these promises without delivering on them before people stop believing them? Pinocchio was more believable than ZOS.

  • hammerwinn
Guys... LEt them fix and balance the CURRENT content... if you guys PUSH for MORE CONTENT and ANY COST... What you will get is something like Star trek online. content updates all the time, but bugs that make the game unplayable at times, system instability, and Crushingly unbalanced play that has killed PVP and reduced all the PVE content to a Farm.
