Possible memory leak and overheating

I'm just going to repost this here. I sent this report to customer support and they just told me to check my firewall and ISP. Hopefully a dev will see it here.

ESO seems to have a serious memory leak issue that has sprung up in recent patches. Around August of last year I could run the game on fairly nice settings and get around 30-40 FPS, but recently I can hardly get that when at absolute minimum settings.

My laptop also overheats tremendously when playing the game now: I can only play for about an hour without it either shutting down from overheating or getting dangerously close. Also, this seems to be much worse when playing as my Pact character. Things take a long time to load (especially UI elements) and my laptop overheats nearly twice as fast compared to when I play as my Dominion character. This is especially bad in the character creator. With my laptop being totally cool to the touch, I can stay in the editor for about 15 minutes before it shuts itself off from overheating.

I really have no idea what can cause the Pact to overheat my laptop so much faster. Is it a memory problem with characters that have been around longer? Is there a leak on the selection screen background? Does loading Ash Mountain literally put it inside my computer?

I hope this problem can be fixed soon. Each passing update seems to make it worse. I was thinking it might have something to do with the Crown store loading all those models behind the scenes, but this problem has been in before that.

Open Task manager and keep an eye on what eso.exe is doing. See how much memory is being used by this process. Should be a good indicator if there is a leak. When they added the Justice System it put a huge hit on the systems. My game used around 1.5 gigs of memory before the justice system. Now the standard is 1.8 gigs. With all the NPCs and guards they added it really hurt the system resources to say the least for some. It's a 32bit game so at 3gigs it will crash if the memory doesn't get released.

I'm seeing many occasions when the ESO.EXE process is 100% CPU bound, especially during loading screens (the 'never ending' ones often do end after some time of such usage) and also some situations in the world where processor usage rockets for short but noticeable times.

It's using around 1.8/1.9 Gb on my addon-free system.

It typically uses about that much, but when monitoring it it just seems to go up and up and up constantly. I've bluescreened a few times because of it.

I've submitted several memory leaks over the past year. I send CS screens of my Task Manager and screens of my map showing my exact location. That way they can go to those areas and see if they encounter the same issues.

Does the leak start in one particular area? If so where?

What level is your character? That way they know if it is regular level or vet level having the issue.

Do you have another character in this zone that you can take in and see if they memory leak happens with them?

Can you start a new character in this zone, if it is a lower level area having the issue, to see if the leak occurs in the same area?

These ^^ are things that CS and I have done in the past when I submit leaks so they can narrow down if you have a corrupt character or if there is an issue in that zone.

I'll see if I can do some closer testing. It seems to mostly only happen with my EP veteran and it happens in any zone.
