If they allowed returns it would become a renting service. "Welp I am tired of my tiger, I think I'd like to trade it in for a costume. "

I knew people who did this with shoes. Bring them back before 7 days and get new ones lol.

You can preview it before you buy it. Not sure why you think that kind of thing can be refunded just because you changed your mind.

That's the entire point of a refund, and why would "this kind of thing," be any more difficult to refund than anything else?

Because then players would just refund their other purchases whenever they wanted and put it toward other stuff. Which means you're not spending more money to unlock other items. Also, Ive never played another MMO that let's you do that.

And because they let you preview it before buying to prevent this.

SWTOR has certain items, mostly packages with more items, which you can return within 12 hours of purchase (if unopened).

    So it could be done.

Set a timer so user can "test" it if he likes his purchase/
Can return item within 5 hours of purchase
Get achievement/unlock after 6 hours of purchase if not returned.

    Not that hard.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

If items isn't used sure let them be refunded, but we don't really have any packages in ESO crown store that needs to be opened.

if it was like this with costumes you could just return it within the time limit then buy it again and continue that way.

ofcourse they could make it a time limit that would just continue if you got the item again, like a 1hour try period on costumes, if you returned it within 30 min then got it again you wouldn't have 1 hour left on the costume but 30 min

If you paid for your crown points with a CC, you can force a refund by contacting your CC company, they will reverse charge ZOS.

Doing this can damage your credit rating, and furthermore, some game companies actually consider it a form of fraud to do this and can put your account in danger.

I doubt I'm the only one who looked at a pet or mount in the crown store, thought "awesome," and then realized it looks totally out of place in the game. It'd be nice to return crown store purchases for a refund, so we can put the points toward something else.

yes then i can just buy 5k crowns and never buy crowns again and just switch between the newest coolest stuff! *sarcasm* cmon man are you serious? its not a video store, its a car yard.

@magic_is_might was merely pointing out that they provide an easy means to see how it looks on/with your character with the preview screen. They provided a this means so they would not have to do refunds.

It comes down to use the preview tools they provide and think twice about any purchases before making them.

Oh come on. A refund policy is nothing special and/or harmful. It usually is implemented with a time limit, take 15 minutes and you have prevented any kind of effective "rental exploit".

    Why the hate?

Edited: I haven't seen anything that looks out of place nor have I seen animations that don't look good. I think ZOS did a great job on the animations in this game. I've seen much, much worse.

And no, you should never get a refund for digital content unless it isn't as advertised. Everything in the store is as advertised.

Played a game once where you could sell an item back within 24 hours... But for 90% only of buy price.

Might be a decent compromise if people feel the need for it.
