Is shield bashing considered a basic attack or a stamina based skill?

This is a really good question. I will like to add another one: can bash crit? If it is a basic attack, do it proc some of the 5 set item bonus, where light attacks do more damage? If it is like a light attack, it should also give you ultimate regen.

I would have to say it's a stamina attack since it reduces stamina when you activate shield bashing.

It is a stamina based attack, it requires stamina. You can also bash with whatever weapon you heave though, or just with your hands ^^

I thought bash was in a class of its own. Its not classed as an attack when it come to items proc and does not get any stamina attack reduction applied.
Dodge, block and bash are all there own class and all use stamina but do not get stamina reduction from glyph's applied.

But will retest that tonight to confirm.

Nothing other than blocking damage or a dodge roll will drop your stamina faster than a shield bash. It's all stamina.

Bash is a mechanic all in its own right. It not concidered a skill or an attack. Only reductions that are phrased specifically towards bash or "Stamina Cost" in general affect this.
Not sure if Bash can crit, but if it can then it probably doesnt do a whole lot.
