Lag.

I'm pretty sure U, zenimax are aware of the lag problem. Nontheless the communication between us ( the players, community ) and you as a company is terrible concerning the matter. I'd like to know if theres any word about this.

I like this game ALOT, pvp is like nothing else even tho i don't hop the zerg train. But the lag makes it completly and utterly useless to play. Theres nothing we can do.

Yes you are aware of this, but apparently theres not enough players complaining, I want that feedback, I like to know where the lag issue stands so I can decide wether or not I'm going to invest my time in this game for any longer or not.

Not to call anyone out, but if i don't get a response on this or the community doesnt on a very short term, I'll just asume the issue won't be solved in time ( or at all )

Regards,

Me, and probalby the rest of the community.

PS: I'd like to make this the community thread in general discussion regarding this issue, if anyone knows anything or whatever, this should hopefully be the thread to discuss matter. If theres already a thread like this open, good stuff but I'd like this one in the centre of all attention.

1.) The developers are fairly confident they can solve the problem.

2.) It means re-engineering core functions of the game's networking.

3.) They don't know how long it will take.

4.) Marketing asks them to remain silent.

Any developer acknowledgement that the game has core issues still being worked on will kill sales and turn gamers away from the game permanently, because gamer's don't understand that software is never "complete" and it very likely will be ironed out. They know literally nothing about their own hobby. Since we, as a demographic, aren't intelligent or informed enough to have that conversation, ZoS can't have it.

Planetside 2 went though a phase like this also. Actually, heh, most of Sony's MMO's have. The early NCsoft games did, but sine then they'e been re-using a lot of back-end is my guess. WoW did.

yes, this is a important issue.
one month already pass since Paul Sage wrote the "cyrodiil perfomance update" thread, but we still have a very poor perfomance. this is a serios problem.

But let's be real here, it's intermittent. One second you're posting 120-200 ping, which is actually amazing for an MMO like this and even 250 ping would be playable; the next it spikes to over 900. Then it goes right back.

It's definitely some issue with the game's design, not just typical server failure which would be much more all-or-nothing. It's a really challenging issue to solve, possibly the most challenging thing you can attempt to design in game terms.

PvE is intermittent, PvP has very specific and noticeable patterns (> 12 players repeated use of certain AoE). Agreed, it's game design (but that's easy to say too).

Lyzaa, where’re you seeing this lag? I have seen a few of these threads pop-up and I kind of curious now I really want to know where this lag is. I have been playing ESO sense the beta and all I have been seeing is an increase in over all speed sense the last few updates. I play a vr14 NB in Thornblade almost every day after work and on the weekends. My network connection by today’s standards is by no means overkill it is mid grade Comcast biz connection at 75 down 15 up. My computer is on the high end but I don’t think this is a reason I am not experiencing any lag whatsoever.

Re: 1) above. If that's a statement, then please share when ZOS made it as I've never heard them speak to there confidence in resolving PvP lag with anything other than "oops" and "we're working on it" and "in the meantime it'll be less if you spread out".

It has nothing to do with ur connection, its a server sided issue. It's on EU. If you're playing on EU and u didnt experience lag on thornblade, I have no idea how.

But i guess ur on NA

Agreed guys keep it clean in looking at eso again for ps4. After been a beta tester and spending a few months live i gave up. It was a very sad day but eso was not in a good shape. I have decided to give them another chance for the console version. I plan to get my mates to give it another try as well. But i jumped on the computer and the lag is insane. Now i dont remember it been that bad last time around. So i would like answer this week before i convince anyone else to give eso a second chance.

    Thanks Zenimax

It is not only a PVP lag problem, characters take ages to load, sometimes I run and end up in a group of enemies, that just have been loaded.

Zenimax.. :/ you might get some population on consoles, doubt there's a lot really... but you've sure lost milions of PvP players wich would be there if Lag in zcyrodil was non-existant.

I really think PvP for the PC game is toast, because I doubt they will be able to fix it before everyone has left in disgust.

The official thread about the issue turned into a place for rage posts, and the developers did not say one word after the inital post. Now, after a month of silence on the matter, that thread moved off the sticky list and is going to be forgotten soon.
