The problem with that is buying cash shop items creates incentive to produce more cash shop items, but not necessarily new content. If a product sells well you make more of that product. If an aspect of your business is profitable, you focus more on that aspect.

Business model was changed to fulfill cosole requirements and prepare B2P base for cosoles.

Do you have any ZOS sources that can prove your words?

It was in a video by matt and paul with Bethesda leading the discussion.
Probably available in the past youtube videos.

Why would you switch to B2P before the very last moment possible (console release) and lose all the subscription revenue in the mean time in the gap ?
Are they so rich they can afford to dump all those subscriptions ?
Did the B2P of TU really bring in enough cash to tide them over until console release ?
Why are they dumping staff if there is so much to do and they are so rich ?

Well initially the console model looked exactly like the PC's one.

Now why did they change the business model? A believe that there are many reasons to it and one of them is the Console release indeed.
Maybe they dumped all those subscriptions because there weren't enough of them to fuel up the business.
No they are not reach otherwise they would not be dumping staff.
This B2P model is a serious change that contradicts their original arguments of a subscription based model. I don't know what factors contributed to this change but one thing is certain they are very serious.

But who cares right?...lets keep blaming ZOS for lack of content, P2W, Console dedication etc..

I'm a casual player who played the game from Beta, I still have content to do, and I'm still enjoying the game.
And if you call yourself a dedicated player that ran out of content than you should have realized by now how much effort did ZOS put in ESO.

I really hope that ZOS will go over the whatever difficulties they have right now. Because once they go over it they will not stop amaze us.

I like the approach of this article and I enjoyed reading it.

Although as many already said it, we all knew this was coming and it is sad but true, we PC players funded this game so far and are left alone at least until autumn/winter this year... not even talking about PvP players...

You need to take a look from their side: the console version is coming and it is at least 50% if not more of their business, so it is the "content" they care the most. Introducing IC in new platform same time would be simply stupid.
Also if they postpone IC and other possible extensions after consoles they can double extensions later - now console players would just take it as part of game and require new content soon.

....... nothing to say . Where is the dislike button?

They dont even have to add IC ... there is alot of thing's to fix in this beta state game....

And come on...bring in a new crew for the console release... Cant let down your actual constumer.

I baught the game at the begining of march cauz it went b2p and I still got myself a sub to encourage them.

But for what ive seen so far (End game content , broken combat system with macroing exploit(most likely causing lag) , state of pvp and future content release expected) I wont renew my plus sub and I wont buy crown either.

Craglorn has nothing for solo players to do. Its all group even the delves.

While I never tried to solo Craglorn at VR7, I can assure you that the delves can be soloed with the right build at VR 14. I've finished soloing all the Lower delves and am working on the Upper ones. You can find my build (which includes videos) in my signature.

Again anyone can claim to have done anything. I asked for proof.

Gladly. I'm V12 now, but I don't mind having you tag along while I wipe them out. Assuming you are EP that is.

Just record it and link it here. Altho the other guy said vr7 not vr12. Ill take vr12 tho.

What about v14? Because in an effort to prove absolutely nothing, I took my roided out nightblade main and soloed the smallest group delve I could find. Because.... Fun?

EQ Next looked terrible to me in the closed beta (I just didn't like the concept and art), but I have been a backer for Camelot Unchained for over a year. Definitely biding my time until it releases. The transparency and communication with their backers is amazing. I guess that's the difference between indie and big-name companies though.

that's true, i lost a bit of hope towards good EQ since latest changes in ESO. I will see it anyway as EQ2 was my favourite MMO.
I still have a faith in this game, that they realise what a good player base they have and do something good with this game. Otherwise it will end at the same shelf as Warhammer online.

The tf post actually made me think about trying FFXIV.

    No troll

FFXIV is a beautiful game. I played it for a few months starting from release. The fact that you could be any class was pretty awesome. There was no PvP at the time but everything I have watched online looks horrible. My biggest issue with the game was how incredibly boring combat was. You had MAYBE 2 rotations you would use that was it. Most of the time it was just one. I realize with ESO you have a fraction of the skills on your bar and sometimes it feels like you're just spamming but for some reason I feel ESO is far more active/reactive. FFXIV became a huge bore. They do have a rediculous amount of content now though. Far surpassing ESO. Their crafting system is pretty awesome too. Way easier than in FFXI. I still like ESO a lot more. I just wish new content, especially PvP content, would come out. But it seems that's a long ways away. Not going to lie, I'm a little pissed about it.

OK show me. I am honestly not being rude but people thought it was A Stretch when I said I (on Templar) and a sorc (1.4-5 era) duoed it all and only got a tank for a few UC bosses. (Excepting sky-stuff ones and Shada's tear, and ones where you need a door buddy or 4 for a quest type req.)

I bet you could solo Hircine's Henge - but I feel dubious to the rest of your claim at that lvl.

If the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence, it's because there are more weeds.

Great article and very well written. Though I understand that new content maybe a while down the road, I believe ZoS could do a few things to keep PvE endgame at the very least, mildly worthy. Thus my threads I linked above. While we wait on content, THE VERY LEAST THEY COULD DO IS OPTIMIZE PVE GEAR!

As it stands now, PvP is the best place to get PvE gear...... wtf?

Simply put, the correct carrots need to be put on the correct sticks so that I am busy with the chase while waiting on content. Current endgamers are leaving by the droves and ZoS has yet to even acknowledge its endgame.

Ok article but comparing a game that only had one year and is trying to release their games on consoles. Is a bit unfair. You comparing them to games that have about 10 years( World of Warcraft), 4 years(fxiv), 2 years (Guild Wars 2) to set everything up. All these games have hit their stride and they basically got their game to where they want it thus the focus on content. I say wait until Zos to hit their stride and then compare it. Meaning wait after the console launch which was suppose to come out for a year ago and then we can see how the content role out.

Yes, if it worked like Kickstarter: they gather money for a specific project and the basic donation tier gives me access to this content when it's released.

In your crown store scenario, I buy crown store items I don't need, with no guarantee the money will go into content development, and then I have to pay for the content again when it's released despite helping fund it. Uhm, no thanks.

At this point ZOS would be better off retuning craglorn entirely. Retuning it to the way it was intended and upping the xp and upping the rewards.

Fact that most experienced players can solo all of lower crag (obviously trials excluded) and much of upper crag (delves not so much) is silly. It was designed to be a group zone, make it a group zone again.

I know that might seem counter to some forms of logic, but making it a viable zone again would be content. It's a pretty good zone, it has a lot of delves and a fair amount of quests.... and no one does them anymore.

The article is misleading on some aspects, for example the "Content" for WoW under Q4; that was the release of the game... That is not "content", it was a launch. I play WoW and ESO, WoW has added 1 full raid since its launch; 6 months. Look what ESO added in 6 months from launch; then come back to the conversation. Also, some of the other "content" for other games is misleading.

I never really cared for tf crew, I think some of them have good opinions and such; but other than that, meh.

Let me put this into perspective for some of you because clearly you are probably young and do not understand the industry, which is ok. ZOS is focusing mainly on console release, which they should be. They will have already delayed the release of the game on those platforms for a year when they launch in June. If the console release does not do good, this game is doomed. I personally LOVE this game and hope it doesn't become doomed; so I am OK with them putting a lot of resources into console release. As being apart of the PC community we need to support the console release because if it goes much better than the PC launch, which it should, then the entire ESO community will feel the success.

There are ways around lag in Cyrodiil. If you have more than 100 people fighting; fight OFF objectives. The lag hits hard when to many people are fighting and spamming around keeps. If you have zergs fighting zergs; fight in the open field. It makes for much more fun and you wont have lag, trust me.

One last thing to say, PC community should be excited for June. Not only for console release, but with the release with console we should see a content update for all platforms.

Yeah, I play FF14 too and you summed it up perfectly, TONS of content but boring combat... It's the combat that separates ESO from every other MMO out there, non-root action combat FTW!
