They need to up the RNG rate in wilds (more if they actually did) or at least have better RNG with hireling for that one (well food too) as you can't refine a stack to get gold like you can with wood/ore/cloth...imo

It's all RNG. It affects so many things in this game, and can either drive you crazy or have you jumping for joy. I've gotten one Kuta since 1.6 until Monday. Then I got one from a writ and found two in the field in about 15 minutes. Same with nirnhone. Went days without finding any, then BAM, got 3 Fortified and 2 Potent on same day. Shoulda bought a ticket to Vegas.

Bottom line you have to look at drop rates across the entire player base, not just individual results to say if there is a problem with Kuta drops. From this and other threads, they still drop. Pray to the RNG God.

I farmed a cyrodiil dungeon for 40 minutes and got 3 kuta.

I got my first Yellow Temper (first Yellow of ANY kind) from a hireling today since Update 1.6 - I used to get several each week. I have received a few overall from writs. but my acquirement rate of Yellow mats is about 25% of what it used to be. There's a reason Kuta prices are about 40% higher right now and rising rapidly.

A couple of days ago I gathered the nodes from 3 enchanting surveys, and between the 3 surveys got 4 kuta. So they are still dropping, it's just RNG. Mind you, having said that, they did reduce the drop rate for golds from hirelings in 1.6, so if you're relying on hirelings for kuta you should probably change your strategy and start doing enchanting writs instead (you can get kuta as a reward for the writ itself, in addition to the possibility of getting them from a survey).

I think it's okay they are rare, the others are easier to get, but you also need 8 of them instead of 1 to enchant. So I'm ok with this. Now when I rarely find one, I can spam guild chat and make people jealous

Now you have to do crafting writ or harvest. Hireling has been nerfed. I got 1 kuta yesterday and 1 today from craft writ and found 1 in a node.

More alts means more crafting writs, more survey maps -> more kuta. I don't farm aspect runes/heavy sacks, but of course If I see one I catch up. I do enchanter writs every day with 2 characters, I have ~40-50 kuta in my bank usually, I use it too (update 6 -> many new sets many new enchants).

I don't know it is luck or not but I have average 1 kuta/day, from heavy sacks, from daily writs, from survey maps, from aspect rune stones.

After this past Monday's update, I have started finding Kuta in the wild again. I am getting 2 per day. I even received one from my Hireling yesterday. That was a nice surprise.

Dam well i have been unlucky as, i havent got a sible gold mat from my hirelings since 1.6 (2 hirelings per day) and have had no luck in the wild either..
Tho kuta is what i been worrying about as my stocks are gettin low and the price keeps going up >.<

imho crafting writs is by far the most efficient (and most annoying because you also have to go collect those stupid rede runes) way to get them.

that being said, most runes are foound by players farming aspect runes in the wild, i guess. those that spend 100s of hours farming delves all report getting about ~2 kuta per hour doing so.

personally, i just buy them whenever they're sold at 4.5k or below. I feel like I get that amount of money a lot easier than I would ever farm those runes - one lucky vdsa run with an healering ring tin the earlier stages and a v14 healer sash/boots/gloves at stage 10, and you can buy a whole lot of kutas. a great evening in pvp and selling one of the good elite gear vendor (or surprise pack) things, and again, there's your kuta money

Gotten a good handful when I actually looked for them. Just keep trying; also Cyrodiil delves dropped them almost every node.

They nerfed it so your peons won't send any in your mail, the drop rate around the world seems the same though.

I do the writs daily. I get two - three kutas a week just from writs. Farmed another 2 or so while in Crag. So i get on avg a week, 2-6 kutas, not counting what I find with survey maps. Since 1.6 I have 15 in my bank, so yes they are there.

As others have said, do more enchanting writs, preferably max level enchanting writs, I get kutas dropping loads.

Sometimes loot them from heavy sacks also.

And regarding hirelings, I did see somewhere that they will never drop gold mats, at least I don`t get any at all from hirelings, which irritates me vastly, sometimes even the high level writs for blacksmithing may only drop one useless item.

I have actually been wondering the same thing. Since 1.6: 1 Kuta from Hireling, 1 Kuta from a Writ and not a single one from a rune node - on any of my alts and I routinely hit a few dozen of these a day across a couple alts in all zones. While it was a little high, when I first started the game it wasn't uncommon to see at least one a day on Stros M'kai alone.
