Racial active abilities.

Hey guys, I was thinking lately about racial skills.Every TES games has racial active abilities and for some reason they are missing in ESO.I think that this should have been implemented in the game a long time ago.What do you guys think ?Should it be a thing ?

    I want a racial ultimate for each race.

    If someone from alpha testing or closed beta could chime in I believe they could give you more information. From what I've understood through the grapevine is racial ultimates used to exist but were removed because of balancing.

    I'd love to see some racial active skills especially group abilities. For ex, you know Imperials are excellent strategists, maybe they can buff their group or maybe siege weapons with an Imperial ultimate ability for x amout of time of course.

    And, why not block these skills when you have vamprisim and ww, there's no point to stay human atm.

    There's enough min/maxing in this game already. The game can hardly be called balanced as it is, namely with regard to racial passives. Racial active abilities would only make it worse. So please no.

    If I recall, non-disclosure agreement was still in effect at the time of racial ultimates, so it is a bit difficult to dig up.

    Managed to come across a fansite forum page from September 2013 that listed the following as information released at a PAX though:
    Argonian
    Ultimate: Histskin - Health regen increased by 100 for 15 sec.

    Dark Elf
    Ultimate: Ancestral Guardian
    15 seconds, activated can taunt

    Nord
    Ultimate: Battle Cry 7% AE damage increase anyone in area, activated

    Further in the thread also lists the following without refrence:
    Breton
    Ultimate
    Dragonskin - Absorb magic damage up to 50

    Redguard
    Ultimate
    Adrenaline Rush - Increase stamina regeneration by 100 for 15 seconds

    Orcs
    Ultimate
    Bezerker Rage - Increase damage by 50% for 15 seconds

    Bosmer
    Ultimate
    Command Animals - Summon animal aid for 15 seconds

    Khajiit
    Ultimate
    Reflexes - Increase movement speed by 20 for 15 seconds

    Altmer
    Ultimate
    Highborn - Increase in magic regeneration by 100 for 15 seconds

    They look familiar to me though.

    Nice find Samadhi.

    Funny thing is they took this out because of balancing issues but if they left them in it would certainly help things out in terms of balancing and also would give more meaning to racial choices. A lot of things should have stayed in like the Sorc's old ability Repulse (think Death Wind 5 pc. effect) which I think should replace Rune Prison and the Class that was deleted called Warden.

    Also this website has a picture of the Dunmer racial screen from (I assume) alpha and you can see an ultimate choice, the pic is small. elderscrollsonline.info/racial-skills

    Min/maxing now in the game is "magicka users go for vampirism" "stamina users go for ww" cliché. I suggest an alternative way to stay away from this crap, a reason to stay human and I believe what I said is totally against min/maxing. :)

    Hell no.

    I have NOTHING against racial skills IN THEORY. They're lovely. Would be great for giving even more colour to our racial choices.

    However, what we've seen is that every single area where races/classes differ is a point of contention regarding balance and min/maxing. Argonians had a boost to potion cooldown, so players came up with "potion-quaffing builds". Soon after, the passive was removed due to balancing issues, negating those builds. This is always going to happen because balancing is an ongoing process. You will never get the whole community to agree on balance issues.

    Opening a new Pandora's box right now, however appealing the idea might seem in theory, is the last thing the game needs. ZOS have way too much on their hands right now. But hey, that's just my opinion :)

    There are people completely freaking out over the "unfairness" of racial passives like it is the end of the world. They would go insane if races had actives as well.

    Hell no.

    As the game is right now, in endgame play vampirism is a baaaad thing, warewolf is good because you get more stamina regen for blocking. That goes for all roles and all builds in group play.

    The only place vampirism can be of use is in pvp.

    I have nothing agains racial ultimates basically. But ZoS removed them in the earlier Beta, because this would make some classes more appealing than others. In my opinion, each race is pretty much equal at the moment.

    And I think, those Ultimates would be too weak and nobody would take them, because their impact is not big enough. This is only my thought . For example if Altmer had a low cost Ultimate, that restores Magicka or increases Magicka Regeneration, I might take it, if the cost is really low, like 70 or so. But I doubt it.

    But hello ? Orc-Berserker increases damage by 50% ? Auri-El.... this would make them the most played class ever. Imagine an OP Stamina Melee fighter with this ability, they would 1 shot everything.So thank the divines, they removed the race Ultimates.
