The Horse Riding "pause" observation

Warrhammer
I have noticed something about the "pause" when riding your horse in Cyrodiil. It seems to happen mostly (to me anyway) when traversing in hilly areas or even just being close to a rise in the elevation. Now I know speeds when going up hills slows down as you think it would since well you are going up hill.

I'm wondering if some kind of collision thing is going on where the server thinks you are going up a hill, slows you down or pause, realizes then ok your are not quite on a hill and off you go again. Just something I have noticed.

Also happenes on flat ground. At first I also though, maybe an invisible rock or something, but it's just a bug which happenes everywhere.

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Also I noticed it happens more when you are sprinting with your horse.

Of course it is! You go faster, travel more and so the bug occurs more frequently.

There is already a thread in here (don't find it at the moment) where someone posted detailed map positions where you can reproduce this bug over and over again. If this doesn't help the devs to find the bug... well, we are f****d.

Truly again for me anyway its the most aggravating bug beyond even lag which I don't suffer as much

The solution is pretty easy... Remove all mounts from Cyrodiil and let's all walk! This way it may also reduce lag as by the time your groups arrives at the scene the fight is already over ;)

sound like the good old DAoC days "all remove your cloaks! they are producing lag"

I've found it that with Rapid Maneuvers up, it happens about the same amount of times as without it. However, while sprinting, the chance you will stop increases by a very large amount. I think it likely has a couple variables, including: Environment, speed, sprinting, (Possibly) server lag.

I don't think it has anything to do with server lag, I play at some odd times when a lot of people are asleepy and there is zero lag to be found, and yet it happens consistently and without fail every single time I ride! Yee Hawwwww!!!

It pauses for so long on rocks and pebbles and blades of grass and when a cool breeze blows its practically negating putting points into speed at this point

Horse pause happens even on flat terrain. May be related to area transitions. Needs fix badly!

most of the pausing for me happens when ever i am sprinting on the mount. I think i read some ware that @ZOS_GinaBruno was saying they may have found the issue and are working on resolving it. im to lazy to go dig for what she said but im pretty sure i read something >.>

I have made another observation. If you jumps over one of the stop spots your mount instantly teleports down to the ground and gets glued with the usual delay until it can move again.

Looks to me like its a subroutine in the mount system that kicks in and overrides at the wrong moments.
