This is a list of bugs in ESO as recorded by players on
UESP. There are three aims to putting this here:
- To bring attention to ZOS the details of some cosmetic and gameplay bugs that they may not know about
- To see if any of them have been fixed without us noticing
- To get any more specific bugs recorded
The source page for this list is
UESP: ESO Bugs, which lists bugs by "thing that is bugged", under two categories: "Confirmed" bugs have been encountered by more than one player, or directly confirmed by ZOS; "Unconfirmed" bugs have been added by someone but not yet verified.
Alik'r Desert: Ogre's Bluff
This location's objective does not trigger properly, and is marked as complete as soon as the location is discovered, instead of after completion of the associated quests.
Auridon: A Hostile Situation (Vulkhel Guard)
Sometimes when the assassins jump down from the balcony, they will run through the wall and disappear.
Auridon: Lluvamir
This region is named in the group finder as Vafe.
Auridon: Sever All Ties (Firsthold)
After closing the first Oblivion portal, the quest marker will erroneously lead you to the door leading back to the main city, and from the main city back to the courtyard.
Auridon: Vafe
This region is named in the group finder as Lluvamir.
Auridon: The Veiled Choice (Quendeluun)
If you are killed while fighting the Centurion and Eranamo dies before you fully resurrect, he will disappear from the area. After successfully defeating the Centurion, he will not appear at the next quest marker when you're prompted to speak to him.
Auridon: Tuzil-dro (Blacksmith, Skywatch)
Sometimes Tuzil-dro does not spawn.
Coldharbour: Between Blood and Bone (The Lost Fleet)
After entering the lower deck of The Golden Era, trying to enter the door to retrieve the journal will simply put you back in the lower deck, and not in the log room.
Coldharbour: Black Garrison
This region is named in the group finder as Shrouded Plain.
Coldharbour: Fist of Stone
This region is named in the group finder as Black Garrison.
Coldharbour: Shrouded Plain
This region is named in the group finder as Fist of Stone.
Craglorn: The Warrior's Call
If you enter Tarish-Zi's chamber in the Tombs of the Na-Totambu before Titus has finished speaking, your kill will not count and your group will need to redo the entire dungeon to make him respawn for you.
Cyrodiil: Empire Tower
Despite having a map marker, the location cannot be discovered or cleared. (Reported fixed 1.6.5, awaiting verification.)
Cyrodiil: Lake Mist Ruins
Despite granting XP for discovery, Lake Mist Ruins does not have a map marker. (It did once, so it seems to have disappeared.)
Cyrodiil: Shurgak Clan Estate
Despite granting XP for discovery, Shurgak Clan Estate does not have a map marker.
Cyrodiil: Nirnroot Wine
This quest is always listed as Level 50, and does not scale to player level like other quests in Cyrodiil. (Noticed with Zimar's version of the quest.)
Deshaan: School Daze (Shad Astula)
Summoning Old Snapper: The orbs around the pond are finicky and can become bugged, especially since the activation animation is subtle.
Glenumbra: Turning of the Trees (Deleyn's Mill)
Babineaux Redain does not appear following the end of Bloodthorn Assassins, meaning the story chain link from Daggerfall to Deleyn's Mill is broken.
Grahtwood: Haven Fighters Guild
The guildhall remains abandoned and inaccessible following completion of Unsafe Haven, despite the map showing that the guild members have moved back in.
(The Steward and Armsman can instead be found near Fisherman's Isle, still in the camp set up following the pirate invasion, but they should have moved back into the city.)
Grahtwood: Rare Imports
In the opening dialogue Enthoras refers to the customs clerk once as
Marisette, despite her name being Aranecarne.
Grahtwood: Unsafe Haven (Haven)
When you first meet Lieutenant Kazargi outside of the aquifer and accept the quest to proceed through it to the fort, the quest marker is erroneously placed at the fort's front door, which is inaccessible at this point, and you will be unable to proceed through the sewer as intended.
Greenshade: Carac Dena
When you approach Carac Dena the area is identified as Carac Dina.
Greenshade: The Flooded Grove (Rootwater Grove)
Though you have to activate an Ayleid Crystal to continue the quest, voice of Hermaeus Mora asks you to go to the Runestone to get a vision. The text correctly says crystal.
Greenshade: Famronion (Leatherworker, Woodhearth)
Sometimes Famronion does not spawn.
Greenshade: Seeks-Better-Deals (Guild Trader, Hectahame)
Seeks-Better-Deals might not appear for all characters, even for the same player.
Khenarthi's Roost: Cast Adrift (Shattered Shoals)
When rescuing the three marines, if you talk to one of them without having any torchbug treacle and then use the dialogue option to tell them you will gather some, get it, return and give it to him, the task will not be closed in the journal and you will not be able to finish that stage of the quest.
Khenarthi's Roost: To Auridon
Captain Jimila will still mention taking the boat, even if you are unable to get this quest due to already having completed Ensuring Security in Vulkhel Guard.
Reaper's March: Claw's Strike
The ends of the walls of the passage in the northeastern hall are not well fitted and sometimes glitches, trapping players forced into the walls in close combat.
Reaper's March: Dawnmead
This region is named in the group finder as Jodewood.
Reaper's March: Jodewood
This region is named in the group finder as Northern Woods.
Reaper's March: Northern Woods
This region is named in the group finder as Dawnmead.
Rivenspire: Valeguard Tower
This location is mistakenly labelled as
Valewatch Tower by the in-game POI marker. (The correct name is shown in the Menhir Hunter achievement description.)
Stonefalls: Restoring Order (Ebonheart)
After the quest objective "Defeat Rhavil Urano" appears, Rhavil Urano might not see you if you are sneaking, and he disappears, leaving you unable to continue the quest.
Stonefalls: The Venom of Ahknara (Fort Arand)
Though Strikes-from-Shadows specifies that you are to use the correct door to the south, the questmarker sometimes shows the trapdoor you entered. It further points out of the fort gate. When you get outside the fort the marker moves to an location impossible to reach in the mountains south of the fort.
Stormhaven: Azura's Relics (Weeping Giant)
Daedra disappear after 20-30 seconds of combat.
Stormhaven: Wayrest Fighters Guild Hall
The door on the right-hand side has the design of a blocked door and does not open (or exist?) from the outside. However you can activate it from inside, only to find yourself on the front steps, at the front door.
Dolmens (all of them)
Completing a Dolmen does not give the appropriate XP reward for POI completion.
Fishing
Sometimes while fishing at a lake in Auridon, you will catch both a Barbel and a Zebra Oto, the latter of which is a rare fish from The Rift, and will get credit for both.
Occasionally you will receive the message "You cannot fish in Werewolf form" while attempting to fish.
