AP bonus for playing PvE? Is this a joke?

This has to be some kind of April Fool's joke. Why in Mara's name would killing a monster in a cave give you a 20% buff to AP gains for an hour?

Please revert this ridiculous change. Gaining more Alliance Points than someone else for doing something completely unrelated to the Alliance War is a travesty.

    It's a trick. When the server is locked you cannot get out of a delve. Many times I made this mistake by trying to hide in a delve. The only way out was to change campaign.

    If people go kill bosses when in delves, they don't provide lag and are locked in the delve until people leave (which won't happen with these long queue's.

    Don't fall for it.

    its not rediculas at all, i am enjoying the buff.
    once an hour i gather myself, go to a cave and kill a boss, its not hurting anyone or anything at all, and for 1 full hour i gain more AP
    the reason your angry and all bitter about it is cause you cant controll what the people in your group are doing and thier not obeying you, i have heard it in the group chat and your dislike of people leaving the pvp momentarily to kill a boss and be right back.
    it realy angers you so you come to the forums and complain.
    well i got news for you, some of us like and even love the buff because it is helping us move closer and closer to getting that rank 10 so we can purchase that self heal skill called "vigor"
    i am very sory you hate it that others are happy from this but thats life.
    the only thing about this that angers me is that it only lasts 1 hour, that should be 2 hours or even 4 hours instead of 1 because its not long enough for me to gain alot of ap before heading back to the boss inside of a cave.

    You know how it should be implemented IMO?
    20% AP gain buff after completing one of quests:
    - Capture enemy Keep
    - Capture enemy Resource
    - Capture enemy Elder Scroll

    That would be an honest reward for taking part in winning Cryodiil campaign for your Alliance.

    Took my group 10 MINUTES to get out of the delve. (Infinite loading screen+ ppl relogging)

    By the time we got to ASH, another 10 minutes passed.....

    They should at least push it up to 2 hours. One hour is pointless right now.....

    Boss might be PvE, but the enemy player that kills you while you are trying to get your AP buff is not.

    It spreads people out and moves more people into the delves to fight in another location, seems to be achieving exactly what they want. Not a huge gain to AP so I don't see the problem.

    There are actually 3 things making this particular "feature" irrelevant:

    1. Once in a delve you won't get out to your favorite campaign as you have to queue up again... Well, I doubt you will be able to pass the queue of ~80 people during EU prime time on Thornblade (~150+ on weekend) in 60 minutes -> buff vanished.

    2. When you finally get your invite back to Cyrodiil, you will hang up in the all famous "Infinite loading screen"-minigame by a chance of ~50% -> buff vanished

    3. Once you passed 1 and 2 without a rage quit you will start off at the exit of your just cleared delve trying to ride your mount to a place of action. While riding there your horse/tiger will stop about 2 times every 20m to pickup a flower or trying to catch a fly with his mouth. By the time you arrive at your destination -> buff vanished

    Not even considering lag...

    imho it's not pve. it's delve campaing / ctf style.
    killing such "bosses" is no different from looting a flag. just need to be there, need to be quick and need to pick it up.

    If I'm leading a group and people aren't doing what I want, why are they in my group? They may as well find another group that suits this kind of gameplay.

    It's ok, one hour is not really long enough, by the time you get out of the delve back to a battle, you only get maybe 40 minutes of the buff to gain AP, unless you run into enemy sooner or in the delve, plus it does spread players out a bit on the map, but it is just a band aide to the real issue of lag.

    It depends on what ZOS is aiming for. Do they want a more open world style of PvP zone similar to a sandbox game or one like GW2 where it's really only about the RvRvR(keeps and whatnot)?

    Personally, I'm a fan of Open World PvP. I don't care much for the large scale keep battles, although I do enjoy them from time to time. The problem with this change though(from what I understand) is that you can go into any Delve in Cyrodiil and get this bonus. If that's true, then it needs to change. The key thing to promoting a healthy open world pvp environment is by "directing traffic". You can't add a resource/bonus that players will go hunt for and then spread it out over every inch of the map. If you do, you would only do the opposite of the intended goal. Players will just go to some corner of the map or the nearest/safest location to avoid PvP altogether, so they can gain their bonus without any hassle.

    The delves that possess these buffs need to be streamlined a bit to better direct where players will go, if the goal is to promote more open world conflict outside of keep battles. Also, the 1h bonus is too short for any player that prefers the large scale battles over small scale roaming. I think a 2h buff would be better in that regard.

    Its not really 60 minutes of +20% AP, it's 60 minutes - travel time to delve and back to some sort of PvP. I find it's not worth doing more than once at the start of a pvp session, unless your campaign has a lull in the fighting.

    Agreed that it makes little logical sense on its own, aside from spreading players out a bit (in theory).

    Something that would make this beneficial to the war effort:
    Associate the bosses with a capture point inside the delves. The alliance who kills the boss takes the capture point, and players from that alliance can transit to that delve and respawn there if they die to a player. This could even be offered from the Battle Missions board: Capture Echo Cave: Kill Sargos Grent and claim Echo Cave for your alliance! The capture point remains under the control of that alliance for 20 minutes, or until another alliance kills the boss.

    Regardless of whether it is under alliance control, it would be good if it were possible to respawn at the delve entrance if you die to a mob, like you can in the PvE delves. They also need to ensure that delves are properly accounted for in the Cyrodiil population, so that you can get out of them when the campaign is locked (haven't tested to see if this is still a problem or not).

    It's actually a very good idea. Gives reasons for people to go into caves, and you will find gankers near the ones that are close to big battles. Gives more opportunity for gankers instead of just staying between keeps.

    Also i don't know if you've PvPed in some of these dungeons before, but it's really fun, easy to play with LoS, tricking your target into aggroing mobs etc

    I think it makes perfect sense. The people who grind AP are upset because they are now 'forced' to take these little detours to grab the buff. With the XP changes, there are reasons now to go to cyrodiil even if you aren't focused on PVP. Now, people who enjoy small scale PVP will have an extra reason to check out that delve to try and find someone to kill. The delves that are close to the action will see frequent PVP and that is a good thing. They do need to fix the issues with loading back into cyrodiil from a delve however.

    I think this is a great idea to get PvP in and around instances... problem is with infinite loading screens and that cyradil is so dead as a map with the population caps it might be not as good as it could be.

    I love it, from now on when going into a delve in cyrodil, ill be more alert about being killed from other players then ever, since it might be the new place to gank people

    I'm new to ESO, so sorry for stupid questions. At beginning of prime time for the American Continents, the server keeps showing full for the non vet BlackWater Blade but no one is around. Is everyone just logging into this PvP map to PvE? Battles are small, zone chat is dead, no battles are showing on the map and it extremely hard to find where a group is. If I log in during the Assuies prime time, the server is half full. The map shows battles everywhere, fights are just massive zergs, sieges have so much red on the ground it is impossible to stop for a second. It is a freaking blast compared to my prime time.
    Do things get better on the Veteran Maps as I level up or can I expect the same? I've been getting AP repairing keeps, I went through about 60-80 kits last night. Does the AP just keep raising the more repairs I do and does this only last a hour?
