this has happen so far like 5-7 times since update
I guess it's worth checking. For all I know it might be a Interwebz packet issue since I had a video stream paused in IE at the time.I am wondering if it is Windows Defender that might be causing this. I have noticed it will completely lock up my Firefox when I am downloading something from time to time as it scans my NAS for some odd reason. I have not figured out a way to tell it leave that alone either. But I turned off Real Time Scans and it has helped me with the freezes in this game. I have only had one since I disabled the scans.Woolenthreads wrote: »Now that I have had it happen with Internet Explorer, I reluctantly have to agree with ZOS that the problem might not be with ESO. I suspect that there might be a glitch in Windows O/S or in the Nvidia Drivers. It's more difficult to track and prove anything in that case. Of course the Graphics lock/crash of IE might be unrelated, too.
Now, this has only been a couple of days, and I am still getting the freezes in Firefox, but the game is more stable, so it may just be coincidental.
I agree that the issues are many in ESO. The few other MMO's that I've played have been relatively fault free even compared to SP games. I just suspect the basic fault is in WinOS activated by a random error in ESO or a Video Driver.nobertpaulb16_ESO wrote: »Not to be a *** here but, but I have not encountered so many issues with any other MMO I play. I'd reluctantly have to say that it IS with ESO's coding. ( some bad, messed up coding involving memory use; the Launcher has some issues with it. Run from exe. file)Woolenthreads wrote: »Now that I have had it happen with Internet Explorer, I reluctantly have to agree with ZOS that the problem might not be with ESO. I have never made changes to the Add-on Settings when it occurs to a session. That doesn't, of course, mean that a change has not occurred to add-on data like MM's.AlienDiplomat wrote: »In my own (admittedly limited) testing, this appears to be a problem with the way ZOS has coded the saving of addon settings from memory to the savedvariables files, or more specifically the holding of these files in memory after changes have been made to addon settings.
I see this is an old thread but it's still a thing. I have it several times a day. My rig has 16 gb ram, nvidia 970, and a 20mb connection. This is the only game that is doing this so is anything being done to fix it?
