Here's some Cyrodiil locations for you... all happened within the course of 10 minutes. They are so consistent that anyone can reproduce these.

1- Take ANY mount to a keep ( example: Arrius ).
2- Go to a tower in one of the corners of the outside walls and go up the wooden stairs with said mount ( no need to run )
3- On the first stairs said mount slows down to 0.3623 km/h if going up in a straight line in the middle. Or even slower its hard to say its so painfully slow and you can walk up the whole stairs at that speed if you down move the camera.
4- Walk up the same stairs, when it crawls to 0.3623 km/h, move camera facing down. It gets unstuck.
    5- Every.
    6- Single.
    7- Time.

I'm too lazy to do a video but if your QA team really needs a video for this... I don't think there is any hope left.

The stairs in the middle to get on the outer wall work fine.

A wild guess would be this can be related to the mount stopping ( or slowing down to a near halt ) on random terrain. On these stairs, *** happens all the time.

Do us a favor: next time you run into the issue where your mount will just stop for no apparent reason, can you let us know the exact location? We have been seeing this reported quite a bit, but locations would help speed up the investigating process. Thank you!

there is no 'one' location, happens at random and never in the same place

I'd do this, but then I'd be spending more time sending /bug reports every 2-15 steps than enjoying the game I love. And maybe even get banned for spamming so many /bug reports...

There doesn't seem to be a consistant cause, ie: hills, rocks, grass. I't's all of the above and seems pretty random.

Also PLEASE don't put saddlebags on my mounts!

In simplest terms, only part of this fix went into this patch and as a result, none of the visual upgrades are currently appearing.

This might not be a question you can answer, but why compile a live build with something that isn't complete? It's bascially asking for an unstable build that will present problems. Isn't the PTS for that kinda stuff, so you can figure it out before we get threads like this all over general discussion?
It's basically just become an ongoing joke, they patch 1 thing, and regardless of what it was they break something completely unrelated. Have you not played this game much?

The thing that bothers me the most, is how I'm not even surprised by these incessant bugs. I'm totally desensitized to them. They don't even phase me. I just keep trucking along like I'm still playing the beta.

My Logic:"Oh X is bugged? Guess I'll just do Y. I'm sure there's already bug reports and rage threads on the forums about it."

    It's not consistent, sadly.

Rivenspire, riding senche-tiger, as smallest possible bosmer female.

coodrinates (73,17) riding west along the road in the village of Northpoint's docks. Tried 50 times, reproduced twice. Tried running faster, walking, superfast with rapid maneuver...

coordinates (62,18) riding west of the previous, between two bridges, just as I reached the end of a roadside wall. Trying to reproduce, instead reproduced two tiger-lengths east; then two tiger-lengths west of that spot.

Now I'm thinking there's a zone boundary running parallel to this road. Trying to reproduce with that in mind, I run back to the bridge again (64,18, travelling east) and am stopped just as I step onto the bridge. that's... about exactly West of the previous three points.

OK, let's try riding north/south over the line 18y. Yup. It's not reproducible *reliably*, but riding south to (61,21) then riding straight north, I stop at (61,18). Let's try that a few dozen times, see how reliable it is.

I'm riding from the stern (rudder, easternmost part) of the boat at (61,21), past the yoke of the cart at (61,18), up to the water, trying not to fall in and get dismounted, turn around, then back.

Nothing, (61,19) -- which is a little south of the last few times -- nothing, nothing, nothing, (61,18), nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, (61,18), and fourteen more runs of nothing.

I'm getting the impression that this may be a LoD thing, or failing that, a network issue. It *feels* like (no empirical data on any of this yet):
    - Running the same area seems to be less likely to make it happen.
    - It's not reliably reproducible.
    - Riding a distance away and coming back makes it more likely.
    - Moving faster makes it more likely.
    - Item boundaries (and zone boundaries?) are more likely to trip you up, though here I've been trying to test on flat roads and grass to exclude "tripping" on items.

I've marked in red the areas that stopped me. None stopped me more than once. Other than the closest three, none seemed to be in a line.

Nope. Take Legerdemain, for example. It doesn't contain any of the PvP elements, so it's woefully incomplete. But what they have is stable and far better than nothing.

It is very hard to tell in what exact spot that happens simply because that happens prettymuch everywhere. The root of a problem lies in different mount speeds on a rough terrain. Let's say if you are riding a mount over a road and there is a slight elevation we get no speed drops, but if there is immediate elevation (even if its insignifficant to notice) in the path we get mount speed drop. I could frap that, but if you want to see and find out yourselves hop on a mount do a auto-run in any direction and you will soon find out what is everyone complaining about.

Even on perfectly flat surfaces. I tested it myself. I rode along for 30 seconds along a perfectly flat piece of road, with no twists or turns, just galloping straight ahead. And guess what? I still stopped 6 times.

And this is on a flat surface. Don't even get me started on how many times ive stopped on non-flat surfaces.

As I said above, I believe there's more at play than "bumpy roads".
Those halts happen at precise junctions between maps "tiles". To be more precise, map sectors, assuming ESO maps are implemented with binary space partioning trees technology.

I have two videos uploading sprinting around coldharbour main town.
    1. Shows a glitch at 3m:30s where the horse stalls making a loud audible clang at the same time.
    2. Shows me running over the same terrain 3-4 times while sprinting with no obstacle sound and no stalling.
    Its 110 mins to upload....alas.

I am in disbelief that you are even asking this question. This did not occur in 1.5 it has occurred on every patch since including PTS. Hope this helps.

At the risk of drawing moderator lightning, I will hazard a guess and say that QA is simply busy and has no time to look at horse stopping and starting right now. Thus, they are collecting information from the customer that they can use later when QA has more free time.

Basically the mount insta-halts then one or more of the following may happen:

    1) Mount just insta-halts, some times it "bounches" back one (in game) meter. Then you have to make it go again from stand-still speed. This is why in PvP it's so dramatic.

    2) Pets may despawn. Only some times they respawn by themselves.

    3) Rare times, the game completely freezes and needs to be terminated with CTRL+ALT+DEL.

My horse stop and start is nothing at all like this. No bounce backs, no freezes. I do not use pets, but I will bet I would not see that either.

For me, this horse stopping is similar running into a NPC that has collision on or trying to go up an incline that is too steep. I do not have to be sprinting. I do not have to be going up an obvious incline, and at least one time it happened on a path while going down. It can happen when nothing else is around, not even frogs, snakes, and other critters.

There are no long term consequences, unless it happens to me when I am within detection range of a mob and they start chasing me or if I am being chased and they catch up because I am standing around admiring the terrain.

If there are other artifacts related to this, then I would suspect LAG before horse mechanics. What I am seeing seems like horse mechanics, although yesterday I entertained the lag idea and that did not pan out in a way I would expect it to.

Ok, quick update: We've identified the issue, and are presently working on a fix for this. We hope to get it into the next incremental patch, but it's not 100% yet. We'll keep you in the loop!

@ZOS_GinaBruno , I had this happen without a mount while sprinting through Daggerfall. Does the issue you guys found apply only to mounts, or was it something in the sprint code? (curious)
