You went from only displaying 2 of the 3 to now displaying 0. Who does the QA for your patches?
Gameplay
If you have all three riding upgrades on your mount, it will appear as though you don’t have any upgrades. This is only a visual issue, and will be fixed in a future patch.
:disappointed:

Nothing but negativity. You take one known issue that Zenimax even pointed out, and you're trying to call them on it? Even when it was only one bug a midst a plethora of needed bug fixes?

    Oh pa-shaw.

The bug with horses CONSTANTLY stopping movement completely mid-gallup was also mentioned on this thread and NOT addressed in the patch. It has been around since 1.6 launched and as far as I can tell ZOS hasn't even acknowledged it yet. This visual glitch with saddle bags disappearing once you had armor and reins now morphing into NOTHING showing when you max all three is just a known bug getting worse.

This patch was actually very minor and did not fix really much of anything of note. The issue with the Templar ability Eclipse causing you to completely lose the ability to attack when it blocks a spell has yet to be acknowledged let alone addressed.

There are many other serious issues, and it isn't so much people are frustrated they aren't fixed instantly as ZOS seems to have a very negative attitude about it as well, where they go into defensive "they're all making fun of me" mode and refuse to communicate with their customers. This leaves those trying to report legit issues feeling like they are the ones that have done wrong, and are just picking on poor ZOS again. IMO that is also a "toxic" environment.

If ZOS would just communicate, learn to update the "known issues" threads and actively post a timetable for a fix to critical issues, people would at least not feel like they were the first to stumble onto something that wasn't already being looked at.

    5B03LA5.jpg

The problem is communication. When you don't have enough and are still affected by major bugs, it diminishes consumer confidence and people start expecting bugs behind every occlusion.

You very clearly weren't around at release, where zenimax responded to a post maybe once per two weeks. Their Communication has done nothing but improve.

Just because they haven't addressed it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

In regards to your templar ability preventing attacking/blocking. I've had this same issue show up on my nightblade/DW/Bow set. I can't remember exactly what triggered it as it's only happened once but the bug is clearly affecting more than 1 skill. (temporary fix is to quickly open and close your map. "M" key by default)

Frankly I don't care about the visual issues as I would prefer fixing the stop/start issue (which is VERY annoying).

If you think that they aren't aware of these problems, you're daft. Just because they haven't addressed it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Anything is an improvement from nothing. But it hasn't improved much. I think Gina Bruno is currently on vacation. She has been the best thing these forums had going for them in terms of communication.

Also, I find it rather hypocritical you find the need to be toxic yourself and insult me for not being positive enough.

This is roughly what happened. We're in the process of fixing the issue where only 2 of 3 upgrades would show on your mount. In simplest terms, only part of this fix went into this patch and as a result, none of the visual upgrades are currently appearing. Again, this is strictly visual - your upgrades are still there, and it only affects those who have all 3 upgrades. This will likely be fully fixed in our next incremental patch.

Glad to see the issue is known and worked on already, was headed here to check that out (having the problem myself). Please god, if you guys are going to make saddlebags show up on horses, change the art. Make them look like bags on guar, the "backpack" saddlebags are ugly.

I think its quite natural response that ZOS has setup for themselves unfortunately.. because ZOS decide to make the game as big as it is, they have set a high expectancy and what happens when that happens, people keep expecting a lot and when a lot is not seen... People become unimpressed and negative. After playing for a few months I sometimes experience that when coming onto the forums. These forums are "a place for the community that plays on the server to vent" and sadly I think ZOS not doing so well, they will continue to do what they do but I don't much will change easily. If they everything was going according to plan they wouldnt of needed to switch to b2p.

XP rates being horrendously bad blocks progression while some xp rates being higher than intended leaves room for exploiting progression. Both are pretty severe problems.

You could make my mount a stick figure with a pig's head, I wouldn't care. Just fix the bug where the mounts stop, stutter, stall (whatever word you want to use) while in mid stride. That is EXTREMELY annoying and seems as pervasive a bug as the "crown bug", the "mail system bug" and the "bank bug". None of those have been addressed. We still have to log out of the bank to get our guild banks to populate. We still have to log out of the game to get mail that was just sent if you recently opened any mail. We have to break group and reform because the leader has "lost" the crown. All of these items have been discussed ad nauseam and nothing seems to have been done to rectify those issues (at least nothing that I've seen). The riding bug is not an issue of lag or any obstruction on the ground, nor is it a matter of running out of horse stamina, as it occurs just as often when I'm not sprinting as it does when I'm sprinting. You "gave" us nice shiny new mounts that are so broken as to make me want to not bother using them. Instead, the bugs that you focus on are the ones that weren't even bugs for the majority. I've learned to live with the crown, bank and mail bugs, but the riding bug is something that needs to be sorted out so it is a smooth, seamless mechanic like other games (and was before in this game). It seems that some, if not all of the devs play the game, does this not bother you guys too?
I PVP almost as often as I PVE and it appears that you address the "squeaky wheels" that complain about some skill being OP or that something else needs to be nerfed (mostly because those people lack the skills to overcome the skills of another player), but these issues I addressed above are problems from the start of the game (and the recent horse issue) that should be addressed soon - hopefully before I just accept that it's broken and will never be fixed.

As a side note: I would love it if we could toggle the visibility of those upgrades. (Preferably one toggle for each upgrade.)

Truly? I personally -like- the sounds of this, I think excessive straps, metal plating and packs junk up an otherwise nice looking mount, now I am anxious to hopefully get to 60 in all 3 Riding Skills on my main before they end up fixing it...9 days left to get 60 in that last Riding Skill (Stamina)...

I am not bothered by the lack of visual upgrades so long as they are actually working.

I am far more concerned about the exceptionally frustrating stop and go nature of riding my mount - an issue I reported on the PTS back in February. That issue makes me curse at my screen and I become even more infuriated when I realize that ZOS has refused to acknowledge and fix the problem. Ostrich farms have fewer heads in the ground than the ESO bug fixing department.

That's disapointing. I really was looking forward to being rid of those infernal saddle bags, really ruins the look of any cool mount.

Absolutely. What's the point in purchasing shiny new horse from the crown store just to have it junked up with those fugly saddlebags? If you cannot give us a simple toggle to display the enhancements, then please change the art to make the bags much less obtrusive and obnoxious.

They are only mortals and they do have other things to do apart from work in order to survive day to day. Things like eating, and sleeping, and presenting offerings of defecation to the porcelain alter. Then there's a point of insuring that their mental health doesn't plummet such as watching a movie, playing a game, and the other thing.

I am ok with waiting for the appearance change and always appreciate being informed when there is a known issue.

I would much rather see mount handling improved. One of my horses was feeling clunky and sent me off a cliff and later off a bridge into boiling lava over the weekend. Fun times. In the meantime I will be getting off the mount and walking when in the vicinity of dangerous obstacles.

    You really can't be serious!

Somewhere in the code that prepares the mounts to be rendered there are checks which stats are over the threshold to qualify for the 'adornment' to be added to the mounts texture list.

No, I'm not a game developer, no, I know nothing about ZOS client code, yes, I've developed software for decades and it's patently obvious that must be part of the basic logic when it comes to rendering the mount and it's 'adornments'.

So, at the point in the code when it decides it's going to add, say, the bags, adding a UI check to see if the player has selected the bags to show CAN'T BE HARD!

It's fine you don't want to do this Gina, but trying to assert it's "a lot more work than it seems" is really treating us like fools.

There's no more work to be done than simply seeing if the player has selected an adornment before deciding to show it, all the code to render bags, armour, etc. is there ready, it already shows them if the stats are high enough, this is simply a filter to stop rendering if all other checks hold true.

Do us a favor: next time you run into the issue where your mount will just stop for no apparent reason, can you let us know the exact location? We have been seeing this reported quite a bit, but locations would help speed up the investigating process. Thank you!
