Downtime should be near non-existent.
Players play on build A while build B is being patched.
When build B s ready, you send out a message that the client needs a restart. They download a patch and are back in game on build B within minutes.
This is 2015, antiquated methodologies have no place here.

When build B s ready, you send out a message that the client needs a restart. They download a patch and are back in game on build B within minutes.
