Loss of Abilities - Never fixed in game

So I have noticed that the famous loss of abilities is still in the game. When I charge a mob and start DPSing at some point I have to hit ESC twice to have my abilities back. Otherwise I stand there and am unable to use my abilities.

This was a bug in beta and now in live and now still in the game. Why hasn't this been addressed?

nope.

you are stuck in an animation (although you dont actually see it) thats why it works after hitting esc (twice)

It's probably a similar issue to this one I posted a video of it happening.. no lag.. no addons causing the issue.. just not able to execute skills.

Note.. the video without addons and showing ping rate is 4th or so post down.

As we said above hitting ESC fixes this. Has nothing to do with Lag. This bug has been around since beta.

Remember this one from beta-days, had it especially on my nightblade.

Now playing sorc and dk, not had it occurring on these characters yet.

I gave up on my V10 Nightblade since Zeni doesn't seem to understand the class... but on my DK I have it happen.

Yeah it's happened to me on my V9 Sorcerer, lvl 16 NB and lvl 12 Templar. I've noticed the problem after the 2.0.3 patch. Really hate it's back...

I was just about to start a thread about this very issue. I've been closing a lot of dark anchors (solo) lately and it has been happening about 50% of the time - maybe more so in Cyrodiil. (Btw, V12 DK - destro staff, 1H+shield). It almost never happens with normal PvE. I thought it might have been an add-on, but sounds like that's not the case.

I don't use any addons, never have. It's an old bug that had decided to come back to life unfortunately.

I died twice yesterday at a dark anchor because my keys wouldn't work. Totally frustrating. Time to get back into the "hit the 1 key" "hit ESC twice" "hit the 1 key" pray it works, rinse and repeat.

There is a debuff I've encountered at Dark Anchors that freezes me out of keyboard commands in a different way. I'm surrounded by a red glow and my skill bar goes dark.

That may be different - or even intentional - as opposed to the keyboard buffer bug which feels a lots like games in the days of pure TCP where every packet HAD to be confirmed as being received. In games the only news that matters is the latest news and some old news has to be dumped or deferred otherwise you can die suddenly from damage you received seconds ago.

If I'm hitting the Q key (or whatever is your wheel slot hot button) that should take priority, as block should take priority and generally does now. If you're calm and careful about applying skill keys - allowing skills with execute times to execute before hitting their key again - it appears to work okay.

However, if you lose faith that they are then you keep hitting certain keys (how many of us have died after the 10th mash of the Q key?) and it feels as if the keyboard buffer loses its mind. Not a very technical term, I know.

Hitting escape twice fast, or C twice fast, or something that smacks it upside the head (another technical term) often works.

However, I don't believe the buffer functions the same on all machines as it would, say, with a console game.

I have one Addon but when I wasn't running Addons I still had it happen. I have also done a scan on the games files (from the launcher) to check the files. Nothing was found and did not help.
