Purchased Crowns on Steam but can't get them into Elder Scroll store.

ageofknowledge
I purchased Elder Scrolls online through steam and am playing it via steam. I then purchased crowns on steam and it shows up in my steam account; however, it does not show up in the elder scrolls store under my account or in game. I still just have the 500 crowns I started with.

How do I get crowns I purchase on steam into the elder scroll store so I can purchase pets, costumes, etc...???

From what I've heard it should've given you some kind of code/key that you enter via your ESO account on this site. Did you not get any kind of code/key to use?

No, I did not. What I received was a reply from a Steam staff member who stated:

"Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

We have no access to this game's in-game economy so there is no way for Steam Support to verify that the in game items you've purchased have been added to your account. We do show that the transaction was completed successfully on our end.

You will need to contact their support department directly if the points aren't showing up in your account. They will be able to research the issue on their end.

Contact this games' third party support department here:

Title: The Elder Scrolls® Online: Tamriel Unlimited™
    Link: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?appid=306130

If their Support department asks you for your proof of purchase, you can find a record of the purchase in your Steam account here:

    - Log in to your Steam account.
    - In the upper right hand corner, click the "[Your username]'s account" and select "Account Details" from the drop down list.
    - Clicking on "Game Transactions" will list your recent purchases for in-game items or currency. The details include the date of purchase, name of the game or item(s) purchased, and the transaction amount."

So I created a ticket with Bethesda a few days ago and am waiting to hear back from them beyond an automated reply that they had escalated the ticket; however, the email also contained language asserting that if I don't contact them every four days, they'll close the ticket... even if it's unresolved.

Obviously, I don't want them to close the ticket but to transfer the crowns I purchased on Steam into my account for use in their online store.

Day after day after day and no resolution... I realize Bethesda is busy but when people spend money for crowns, they should be able to move them into their account and use them in game in a timely manner.

Right now, I don't know if it will be a week or a month if ever. If it takes a month, I'm writing the CEO of Bethesda with FULL documentation just to make the point that something's very wrong when people buy ESO crowns with U.S. dollars on Steam and literally cannot transfer them into their ESO account afterwards.

Last email I got was they are escalating the ticket. Hopefully so. But they also have a deal on every tech support email where they say if they don't hear from you every four days they close your tech support case and you get to start over. That would upset me greatly triggering my snail mail full documented presentation to the CEO of Bethesda. Let's hope that doesn't happen. We'll see what happens. I have zero idea at this point.

Naive me thought if I bought ESO crowns on Steam (given that I'm running ESO on Steam presently), they would automatically transfer into my ESO account.

How was I to know steam would take my money and wash their hands of it and ESO would leave me hanging in limbo?

Lesson learn.. Don't use third party transactions.. I can buy crowns in game and bam I get them. Not Bethesda's fault.

Not so fast. Steam users of ESO CANNOT buy crowns in game. We HAVE to go through Steam in order to purchase crowns because Bethesda won't let us buy crowns directly from them if we are ESO Steam users.

That was the first thing I tried and was surprised to discover it.

Now Bethesda didn't have any problem allowing me to purchase ESO on Steam and use it. In fact, I'm playing ESO now via Steam. The problem arose because ESO forced me to buy crowns through Steam which after I did left them hung in limbo with no way to transfer them to my ESO account so I can use them in the ESO store.

And honestly friend, if you don't have anything to add which can help resolve this issue that presumably may affect all new ESO steam users, please don't post in this thread as it's focused on resolving this specific problem. Thank you.

In your Steam library, click on The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited and then choose "CD Key" from the menu options on the far right. You should see a product code next to your Crown purchase. You need to redeem this on the ESO account page.

What if the product code doesn't show up when you click on "show CD-key"? It doesn't show with me and I purchased crowns..
