Dear ZoS lets talk lowbie zones

Has anyone seen the talk going on in lowbie zones? Seriously......this is what we have to look forward to when it comes to new people making it to VR levels........the buy to play opened a flood gate of children....joy...

I'm EP & whenever I go to Stonefalls its terrible.

Thankfully all my characters live in Riften... so far the new foul mouthed muppet brigade don't seem to have got there yet... its just got busier with fun people & RP'ers... so at the mo I'm happy as Riften is a great place to be...

Hoping the trolls get bored & quit before they get there

you and me both. I tried starting a brand new guy and well....at this point I would pay 50 dollars to be max level and be done with it so I dont have to deal with these people lol I do not look forward to when they get to higher levels or start trying to make friends and do group stuff......

I find the Auridon zone chat amusing. As I was leveling up an alt and getting ready to move on to Grahtwood I actually felt sort of sad.

My final message was something along these lines...

/zone Goodbye random strangers of newbie chat. I will miss you!!

The only thing I grow tired of is the WoW trolls. Those guys need to give that 8-bit game a rest and move on.

It's happening in a few places in the VR zones to. All I get is F* this and F* that. It's why I keep my chat window closed until I need it, which lowers me helping other players who need help out.

ZOS needs to put a swear filter on the chat zone because of all these kids.

@Nebthet78 there is a filter which you can turn on. Sadly I think when people are talking about shoving inanimate objects into certain locations because said person they are yelling at is *insert hate word for someone who likes the same sex* then say "f zos they wont do nothing because they know the game sucks and dont care" then the conversations get much more elaborate than that with their details.....yea something needs to be done lol

You wanna chat? /w, /group, /guildX, or be on Team Speak with me. I survived Barrens Chat in WoW...it left me with a mild form PTSD that compels me to turn off general chat options.

Strangely enough what I've seen so far in EU Daggerfall hasn't been that bad. There was one guy the other day who was swearing almost constantly, but also a few people telling him to be quiet. But mostly it's been ok. Either that or I just haven't been paying enough attention.

Yeah I am aware there is a filter for that stuff. Sucks when you have to actually use it because people are so immature they don't know how to use words properly or they want to spew hate.

I have also seen those type of "Hate" conversations and I report them and take a screenshot as well an let the team know if they need to see the convo I have a copy of it, though I am sure they have a log.

The fact that we have to deal with this more and more is a little disheartening and hope that ZOS puts something in place to start monitoring that crap more and more.

I think we aren't paying attention. It doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as our NA friends are reporting, but I have also heard from people who spend more time than me in zone chat that the quality went down after TU launched. Still, when I tune in, I see a lot of newbie questions and discussions. Not so much swearing. In fact, I'm the one who lost it and swore in /say when some guy kept casting AoEs in a small confined space in Belkarth. Sorry about that.

Just report the more foul ones for their behavior. Don't say anything, don't respond, just report. It'll auto-ignore them for you.

I usually block annoying folks. Helps a lot with having a meaningful conversation in lowbie zones. Also... For helping lowbies and answering questions.

EU Deshaan/Stonefalls chat is only littered with countless guild recruitment messages and lfgs. Sometimes asking for help at some world boss and dolmen report. Usual stuff. During peak hours there is some pathetic childish shouting but nothing like Barrens Chat.

Eh, it's an MMO. Massive multiplayer. But like Sartre said, hell is other people. The reason why zone chat was quiet before is because the game was almost dead. That you are seeing a lot of varied chat, some good, some bad, is an indicator that the population has increased. I would have thought you'd all be happy about that.

My ignore list is filling up for this reason.

Even when moving through Veteran Zones 4+ I see a tonne of insults and hate thrown at each other over such insignificant things. I always kill enemies as I progress through areas, I killed a few that must of been apart of an area a solo player was farming and I glanced at the chat, filled with "F*** off C***" several times.

Hopefully it dies down with this ridiculous attitude.

I am very happy about the population increase the ridiculous chat is just insane lol oh well for the first time in a long time zone chat has been turned off lol

I've had pretty wide range of conversations in the zone chats of starting islands and first zones. Anywhere from discussions about near passes of meteors inside the orbit of earth to how awesome boobs are.

I think any perception of overall degradation due to an influx of new players is over exaggerated. Random people talk about random things.

Tbf, that 8 bit game is still the most successful mmo in the history of mmos. I would love for them to revamp it and make it more ...Black Desert-esque, or at the very least, look like their amazing cut scenes. It'll never happen, and that's sad. There's a lot of positives that are in that game, old as it is.

Idk why people feel compelled to bring it up in another game though, and zone chat is always amusing. I'm leveling an AD toon apart from my vet, and even though there's the random troll, the community is by far the most welcoming and warm of any mmo community I've been a part of.

This is one of the best MMOs alive today and to keep it that way in ones own awareness, its highly suggested to focus on what you Do enjoy and pivot that which you dont into complete servitude.
