Houses for players

    Guild cities with entrances to player housing. No banks or crafting tables or vendors EXCEPT unique vendors for goods that can only be accessed via guild cities. Storage separate from bank storage. Perhaps access to that particular guild bank only. Vendors that sell CULTURAL clothing pieces like the statless lootable clothing and of all "levels" of society from noble to merchant to peasant to beggar. A tavern with a bard you can TURN OFF or select instrumental only music. Some unique pets only available in guild cities. TARGET DUMMIES AND ARCHERY TARGETS! And arena where you can PvP against your own guildies and anyone you invite into the city.

    Players who have their own houses will have an entrance to their house from the guild city and the option to leave their house and step into the courtyard of the guild city.

    SWG and Ultima still had the best housing in any MMO that I played. While Ultima was more a "for yourself" thing, SWG allowed players to build cities out of nowhere.

    What I don't want to see as housing is what AOC has, a system only for huge guilds that then own castles. This would exclude so many players, just horrible. Housing should be accessible to everyone, but it should also reflect the own accomplishments in Tamriel and I am not talking about raids here.
    A player who did help someone in a quest might unlock a specific crafting table, or the rescued NPC will offer his / her service as a shop keeper. Meaningful additions that come over time, but only by playing the actual game and not by grinding dungeons or mobs.

    While a new player might be gifted a small estate after doing a quest, it would now be on him to breath life into it. Over time he meets NPCs that offer their service and the once small estate could become a real home over time. It could offer something to do for those who are not into raiding, something that could be improved with every new DLC and the quests there. No house should be like the other and choices should be permanent.

    A free to place system like at Ultima sadly wont work on a Megaserver. Its a real shame, but ya nothing we can do about it.

    Alik'r Desert, halfway point (roughly) on the North Shore.
    Grahtwood, South-East corner on the shore.
    Deshaan, South-Easte part of map on the shore/river.
    There's also one in Stormhaven between Bonesnap Ruins and Dreugh Waters. I can't remember any others off the top of my head...

    The one in Grahtwood actually can be accessed by jumping on the right things. You can get inside the walls and run around, but you can't interact with any doors or containers. I actually found it harder to get out of that compound than it was to get in. And then after I finally figured out how to get out, I remembered that I could have just teleported to someone...

    I would love to see small instanced neighborhoods like in LOTRO, with crafting stations, etc. but the housing with items that can be freely placed like in EQ2.

    Couldn't agree more, but as my notification bar just told me, it's been exactly 1 year since I started saying "Why is there no way to meet up as a guild in the same in game location. You should fix that. It's pretty basic."

    Thanks to the phase system, you all try to meet somewhere and everyone is actually in their own instance. Guild hall pleeeaasseee

    I think one way they could have an open world housing situation too, is to have our characters carve out a realm of oblivion, much like Eyevea is. Just a thought there. It could give people some creative options and let people build cities or towns out there, SWG style. I don't know if they can or would do it, but I really would love something like that.
