Enchanting still a nightmare to level...

Unless things have changed, alts on the same account don't provide any benefit, certainly when I was leveling smithing early on I needed to use characters on different accounts to benefit from the 'other player' boost to Inspiration.

    Things have changed.

I dont know. I was very patient with my enchanting and got it to 50 by deconstructing what I find throughout the world as well as creating glyphs. I feel like I actually acomplished something getting to 50 with enchanting. Whereas getting to 50 with provisoning I do not feel anywhere near the same. Provisoning just felt kind of like a joke in regards to difficulty leveling. I think, and I am sure most will probably disagree with me, the rest of the crafting should be as difficult as enchanting, instead of making enchanting easier.

You CAN cross-feed glyphs between your alts. I have tested that now with multiple alts. But don't expect enchanting to level up fast unless you can farm or purchase substantial amount of high level runes/glyphs. Do not expect to reach max enchant on your twenties. More realistically expect it at VR14.

Alts on the same account get just as much ISP as those from another player. This has been tested and verified. I can't explain why this did not seem to be the case for you. I mostly had a trading partner, but did use my alt some too. It was bank space and relogs that stopped me from doing more of that. Plus....I had a reliable trading partner.

I tested this way back, probably around 1.2 or so, and Glyphs, or any other items, made and deconstructed on the same account were giving out the same Inspiration stuff you made then immediately deconned on the same character. Maybe this was one of the changes that came about in 1.4.

Quite frankly I am surprised it is the way it is now, being on the same account. Now, the only friction to this process has been removed. Where before the 6 item limit on emails/cost of email was the friction. Anyone can now bootstrap a pair characters up to max crafting levels with just a few stacks of mats.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I dunno. I remember testing it soon after the game went live and having it work the same way it does now.

It's possible I'm misremembering, but I'm still fairly sure I'm not.

Oh don't get me wrong. I decon every glyph I find. I don't "just" buy the glyphs and decon them. Mostly when I buy NPC glyphs it is just to decon them so that I can get specific runestones for making specific glyphs.

Currently, I have over 40 different runes and over 1400 runes altogether.

its the one skill that's tough to lvl and requires finding an enchanter sometimes.. get over it. I just recently got high enough to make my own again without working it that hard to be honest.

    Its changed.
Now you can get inspiration from your alts glyphs. Numbers shown in post above from a person nice enough to check.

Provisioning, however, is not as easy as it once was. Not hard now, but no easy hirelings, and no blue recipes until level 10, that's the hard part. Not that it's the point of this thread. But going to Vulkhel guard and rummaging for mats for a bit then cooking it all up, leveling to 50 in an hour is no longer possible. Have to get mats by stealing or delving. Let's say, more trouble but not hard.

The leveling can be done also with a fully learned enchanter. You need to farm a good stock of runes and offer that stock to an enchanter. They are interested of getting your mixture of all essence runes. There is oversupply of some and undersupply of others. They are probably happy to balance their own stock with your runes. Because it does not matter what glyphs you get back, they can burn their overstock. All that matter is the total XP. Send equal amount of
    - Green, blue, purple aspects - the higher the better
    - Potency 7..9 - the higher the better
    - All essences, especially the less common
Then put in few Kutas as a gift and no enchanter can refuse your request! Don't bother to send Tas or lower potencies, unless they ask. I personally collect lower potencies but don't count their XP.

Take the runes with you and clear your inventory. You both stand at the table. THe enchanter makes glyph, trades them back and you deconstruct them immediately. Give back extracted runes, repeat and you are quickly done.

I have some old notes after 1.4 (which easied enchanting leveling) about the XP and how many glyphs are needed at different levels. I have not verified these with 2.0, but i have not seen any changes in patch notes either.
    Ta + pot7 = 2594, 33 glyphs to level 32>33, 14 to level 17>18
    Ta +pot8 = 2744, 16 glyphs to level 19>20
    Jejota + pot7 = 5182, 20 glyphs 36>37, 10 glyphs 22>23
    Denata + pot7 = 8653, 11 glyphs 33>34, 8 27>28
    Rekuta + pot9 = 19692

Thanks for creating this thread about how hard enchanting is. From the tips here, it's taken me less than an hour to level my alt enchanter from level 12 to level 34, deconstructing all the glyphs I've been selling on the cheap, plus a few batches of glyphs using the surplus of runes sitting in storage. It was sooo hard. >:)

I'm sorry man but I just can't take this thread seriously. Enchanting is VERY easy now since it's been nerfed. I leveled (3) 40+ Enchanters pre-nerf at an incredible cost both in time invested and game currency. Now I have all 8 Characters almost Level 50 Enchanting just from White decons.

No Crafting is ESO (now) is remotely as expensive or time consuming as some Crafting professions in certain other MMO's.

Heh, if people think enchanting is hard here. Try comparing it with crafting in general back when I played FFXI Online. OH EM GEE!

I absolutely agree that Enchanting is the slowest Profession to level, even after changes. My only point is that it's easy compared to how absurdly hard it was before. Like I said, I have all 8 Characters with 3/3 Enchanting Hirelings (most are 40+ now) and 7 of those I did without an Enchanting partner, so I would call that easy in my book.

I have to agree - I did it pre-nerf without an enchanting partner (how romantic...).

The other big advantage now is writs - you get inspiration, raw materials, glyphs to decon...

I haven't gone back to enchanting yet since returning, but it was ridiculously hard the first few months after release. Farming was a joke. I would have needed to re-farm entire zones multiple times to get my level up to be able to use those high levels runes. The level of inspiration needed would be almost twice what is was. But apparently it's better now? Finally.

But apparently it's better now? Finally.

Here is how it should go now. You start deconning the glyphs you get at the low levels when you start, and making the glyphs you need as you go along, the Enchanting should stay in line with your character. If you think about it, Provisioning and Alchemy are kind of the same way, it's just the ingredients are so much easier to find, at least for leveling usage. Ideally you just make the potions and foods you need as you go along, the two skills will keep up with you. But, we all know, we will grind the skill up far more than we need to, just because we can.

Enchanting is still difficult to level up past your character unless you have someone feeding you higher end glyphs to decon. It's just a lot easier to keep it leveled up with your character now. Prior to 1.4, I gave up on enchanting as I was never going to get that up to what my character needed to make for themselves.
