Convert Imperial Style - Lets Figure This Out

Ok, so a ton of people are wondering and nobody can seem to figure out what the exact situation is with the conversion process. Ideas floating around are that you can not convert:

Quest rewards - I can seem to convert quest items that are jewelry (I know the look doesn't change) and items from crafting writ rewards
Named Items - See above
Set Armors - Seems reasonable since the sets are unique, also seems confirmed by everyone
Already Imperial Style - This one just makes sense

It's said that you can convert:

Crafted Items - Seems fine for me
Drops - I believe a few of my drops could not be converted but they may have been named drops from bosses, I'll keep looking into this one.

Stolen from a shop - Seems to be a no for items on display but if you steal from a container in the shop it can be converted.

I really wish I could convert my Magicka Furnace set shoulders and helmet to Imperial style, I hate wearing all Imperial with Dunmer style light helmet and shoulders.

Stuff you can change,

crafted sets you can change,
drop sets you can change unless they're a set with a 5 set bonus like the crafted one e.g warlock, healer, footman etc etc,

Stuff you can't change,

Dropped named set items that have set bonuses on them as they're special sets that are already come in a specific style,
