I'd be more interested to know why Norwegians and SIngaporeans, of all people, pay less. It's not like they top the GDP per capita lists or anything...

In Norway the base game was 67 USD and the Imperial Edition 92 USD at release with the prices used above, but the Norwegian "crown" has gone down a lot in value with the oil prices dropping and besides, the USD is very strong at the moment.

No Canadians are not paying alittle more. The prices are inline with other games now that just use everything in US dollar prices.

Different country has different purchase power. It's best to compare the ratio of the game cost to the median household income.

Tariffs, Import/Export Taxes and Duties, Entertainment Taxes, Sales or Value Add Taxes (VAT) can all contribute to the differences. Some countries try to control what the people do by taxing the crap out of things that they deem unacceptable, but not bad enough to outright ban. No, it does not make sense, but then again, bureaucrats are not required or expected to make sense, just rules.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Nope. We pay a little more than we used to. We don't pay a little more than we should. From launch until just recently the prices in CAD were the same as the prices in USD, which never actually made sense, as the CAD hasn't been at par or above par with the USD in years.

I want to know the reason of such differences.
It's not corellated with average salaries in the mentioned countries.

Is the pre-order version that is everywhere still valid? Since you can get that with under 20€. Payed 14€ for mine couple months ago.

    Why such a differences?

It was kr. 600.00 DKK (Denmark) aka $120 for me to originally pre-order the Imperial Edition of the Elder Scrolls Online, where others would get it for $80 or so. This is because of the VAT (value-added tax) in my country.
The reason why other countries have varying prices is because of the general price range of games / taxation / etc. all being taken into consideration. You wouldn't be able to charge $80 in a country where similar games tend to cost $40. Also the Elder Scrolls Online website (if you get your game through this) is not like Steam with one price for all customers.

    EDIT:
I just went and checked for the actual Tamriel Unlimited to see if the price had changed:
    Price%20of%20Tamriel%20Unlimited%20Digital%20Imperial%20Edition_zpscjvd36c0.png

So that is still $120 for the Imperial Edition. For clarity the VAT in my country is 25% and general taxation at the moment is somewhere between 40-50%. Everything here costs more because the general wages are higher, for example a new console game is usually $100, a new PC game is around $80-90.

Wow. A price comparison thread with no mention of Australia's pricing? Anyway, the console price for the Imperial Edition is 139.95AUD which is 108.80USD. Mind you, this is from a store and not through ZOS. No surprise that Australian pricing is that high.

Based on this information, Canadians are indeed paying more. 79.99usd for TU vs 99.99CAD for the same.

Based on the currency conversion of $0.80cad to $1usd, Canadians should only be paying $95.99CAD for the game, so they are being over charged by $5.00. Plus we pay 13% additional tax on that too.

The same is happening with the game time cards. $15usd should be $17cad which it is online. Times that by two and we should be only paying $34cad for the Game Time Cards. BUT we are being charged $39.99cad for them.

So on average, Canadians are being nailed for an additional $5-$6, or in the case of Game Time Cards, $3/month vs paying a one month sub online.

Actually, at an .80 value, the conversion rate makes it $99.9875 cdn. The GST/HST is irrelevant to the conversion. It is a tax and is one that is a Canadian burden.

The monthy $15 USD would be $18.75, so 17.99 is a bit of a bargain. I expect the prices to remain stable unless there is significant change in the exchange rate.

    Yes, I am Canadian

With the rates from today, $99.99CAD is equal to 82.09 USD

$39.99CAD for the game time cards is $32.83usd. Both show that ZOS is making more money off of Canadians. It might only be a few dollars here and there, but it does add up after a while.

Either way it doesn't bother me much any more as a Canadian. I just have my parents in Florida buy what I need, bypass all taxes and bring it back with them. No tax, no duty, no extra costs.

But this is something that should be watched, especially if our dollar begins to climb again.
