What could be done about this? Just have the body disappear before a new "live" version of the character spawns?

Why not have a group of skeevers run up and eat the body till it disappears??? Give it a cool animation on the clean up. Anything but just disappearing would be an improvement.

Or you could allow players in the Dark Brotherhood to "take care" of them. Which then they can either obliterate it or remove certain parts/ organs so they can sell them to people in need of those certain parts for spells or something.

I feel the same way. I do not want to see clones of dead, but now alive NPCs. Let them disappear fast for the everyone, but the the person who killed the NPC in the 1st place. In other words, dead NPCs should be instanced.

Kind of like Fable 3 if you don't raise any money before the invasion lol! Honestly is some towns it would almost be worth it to slaughter the masses.

At least NPCs murdered during Justice system shenanigans are relatively fresh corpses.

I am always surprised to return to some area I long, long ago completed the quests associated therewith and seeing the same old corpses laying around that have been there since pre-release.

I'm equally intrigued by the fact that Remembrance can suck on some inert landscape corpses and not others, sometimes in the same local piles.

I actually made a little film last weekend - sort of a slight laugh at the number of NPC corpses lying about. The lady raking her own corpse is featured.

I'm not crazy about the whole slaughter the NPCs aspect of the justice system but that isn't my complaint/comment here. What I'm having a real problem with is the corpses hanging around. Yesterday I came on a groundskeeper in Auridon busy raking grass around his own corpse. Today I walked out of the manor in Auridon and found four corpses on the ground with 3 Eagle Talons and a councilor standing there ignoring the carnage. That's just wrong. Can't the other NPCs react, maybe have a guard investigating, or at least make the bodies disappear very fast?

Sometimes I really appreciate absurdity in my games. This may be one of those times, like when in WoW I'd position myself on a chair in just the right spot so when I used the /sleep emote I'd be upside down with my head on the seat and my feet in the air.

Guess I don't take my games seriously.

This seems to happen a lot when more than one person is pickpocketing an NPC, then someone kills that NPC.

Will frequently walk through an area after pickpocketing NPCs, and if another player has killed those NPCs in that time frame, the corpses will frequently contain drops for me if my pickpocketing did not clean out my loot table before they died.

Mobs that contain loot for someone to pick up linger significantly longer duration than empty NPCs.

Okay, I have an idea. Let there be new emotes so the milk drinkers can lay a flower on the corpses and the bullies can kick them and the concerned citizens can kneel and examine them. How about? At least they won't be lying there being walked over like no one noticed.

They could introduce an NPC leading a horse pulling a cart that wanders through the cities calling out "Bring out yer dead!" and as he passes the bodies disappear.

Yeah, this isn't the first time I've seen this sort of thing happen in a MMO (though more often with monsters really), but the sudden corpse count in cities with folks going about business as usual is kinda bizarre/unpleasant. I wish the corpses would despawn quickly or something so that the ambiance isn't ruined for everyone else. It's just too jarring.

I think I would prefer something like a city mage that resurrecta them... or skeevers eating them. SOMETHING that makes sense within the context in the game.

Thank you all for you kind words film fans :)

If you liked "The Nibenese Guar" then feel free to check out the other ESO related material on my youtube channel.

The Thief of Daggerfall (the prequel really to The Nibenese Guar and an early take on the justice system) is the only other silent film I have done so far but there are good videos of guild events and stuff up there too.

I have other projects in mind too but you'll have to wait for those. Probably have something ready by the end of Easter.

The justice system just brought so much amusing weirdness that I couldn't not do something with it.

Sometimes the groundskeepers get their revenge though. I was in Vulkel Guard and saw a groundskeeper and a guard chasing some hapless soul shriven schmuck still in his rags. They killed him. I can only assume that he attacked the groundskeeper with all his noobie enthusiasm but no real ability yet and suffered his comeuppance.

They should turn into skeletons when the NPC respawns and stay there forever. Then we can have hugs fps drops in cities because of all the a$$hats killing NPCs for no reason and the skeletons staking up.
