Update and maintenance, kinda different, I assume they are tidying up and prepping/polishing the game for the reviews when b2p comes. The update that follows after update 6 is the big one to fix all of the issues we've compiled over the last 10 pages

    Seriously ridiculous you guys can put this on twitter, yet people on the forums all asking the main few questions;

    ETA?
    Patch size?
    When can we start Dling?

have to go through the process of finding hen's teeth to extract any info out of ZOS.

seems to be the way companies are going, blizzard lets people know when servers are up on twitter quite some time before forum posts. Also wonder why this one is a bigger update compared to 1.6 when 2.0.1 is a fraction of the size.

It's a server side polish up more so than a patch

OK, but it's 3.26am here in eastern Australian DS time and was just wondering if that timestamp was taken in SA. No biggie. Just a curiosity thing.

Regardless it's a little rough getting a dev post on these forums during patch day that isn't a lame meme is way more difficult than it should be. yet a twitter scrub asks and gets a response on ETA -_-

They said the patch is less than 2 gig. Doubt we see a massive amount of bug fixes with it.

One of the things I dislike about information distribution now a days.

It would make much more sense of have everything here on the main site, and then post summaries / links on other social media which would direct others here and to the forums.

This is something I greatly dislike for Star Citizen as well, the forums are greatly behind in information because CIG posts everywhere but the actual site first and you have to rely on forum posters who happen to notice the social media posts to copy & paste or link in a thread.

This is ZOS bro, remember that time they patched but didn't?

the 12 gig 3 sound issue incremental patch?

    1.3 / 1.3.X

They don't exactly have an amazing batting average on patch day.

I was not thinking this was a post about update 1.6. I said 1.6 was the big update so why are they saying now this is their largest maint? Wasnt 1.6 the largest maint?

Just better hope the 'maintenance' does some good. I've run into more performance issues and bug with 1.6 than in the entire time before. Stutter, lag, dismounting, random wait screens, and other stuff.

And of course, this extra long down time comes when I have an open nirnhone research slot :'( .

And back to thread, I often check twitter for info on patch days. Shameful, but not new.

The longer maintenance is most likely because this is the last maintenance before the TU launch. Lots of behind the scenes and database related things to take care of. Setting up every current and existing account to have access to the game, applying ESO plus to those that are currently sub'd, making sure each account is assigned the appropriate amount of crowns based on current/past sub. That's why the account management page is down as well.

A lot more goes on during maintenance than just pushing the next client/server patch.

Probably because it's waaaaaaayyy easier and quicker to post something on twitter than any forum. Maybe they should just have some sort of feed of their twitter on the forum site.

@KBKB every other site/social network have more information than we do on official site/forum.

Seems to be the way they are all going. IT amazes me really, especially when they go ooon and ooon about how important the community is - and then answer all the important stuff on twitter or bloody reddit.

The guys behind Smite officially killed their own forums just to move everyone into Reddit (shakes head).

I have to say, I thought with the recent announcement about customer and player interaction made by Gina, this sort of this would and should be announced on the forums first.

This, more dev posts on ESO reddit than their actual forums, very poor form.

The work they're doing is on the server side. Probably the big changes are on the billing end.
