Pledge of Mara used when not used for pledge ceremony?

Hello ZOS, about 2 months ago a friend and myself took the Pledge of Mara to gain the rings, but we were unaware if both of us needed a Pledge of Mara to be wed. My friend used the shrine and we were both given a Ring of Mara, but my pledge had been used in the process. A couple days later they quit the game and have not returned for some time. Doing some research a while ago I learned that only 1 person needs a scroll to accept the pledge and was wondering if I could get my scroll back or if this was an intentional thing?


P.S I not asking for a reversal on the ceremony, just for the Pledge of Mara back.

Hey there @Lone_Wolf,

In the ceremony, only one of the Pledges should have been used. If this is not the case, we ask that you submit a ticket to Customer Support, and include the screenshot you've provided. They'll be able to take a look at both of the characters and see what happened. Thanks for your patience.

Unfortunately, a reversal and getting your pledge of mara back would be the same thing.

Many people wish they could have a "divorce" and get their pledge back due to someone not playing anymore, but unfortunately we are all out of luck.

It's unfortunate you didn't understand that only one person needed to use the pledge, but I'm afraid nothing can be done. You could try contacting customer support, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

[EDIT] After re-reading it seems you think BOTH scrolls were used. Unless this is a bug that wouldn't have happened. I'll check on my ring what is says, but I think "created : XXX" just means that is the character you can use it with, not necessarily who's pledge was used. I could be wrong though.

Just one ring, we both had out pledge scrolls with us. I was given a ring crafted by the other player, but my scroll was used as well. I can confirm that they had a ring as well. I did a test while I had the ring equipped and using Foundry Tactical combat mod, the status text and I was getting more exp per monster kill, so the other player had a ring.
