Let's see...Last chance to play P2P ESO
Pssst. Wanna know a secret?
It's really still P2P. We (subscribers) automatically get every DLC whereas the whining Millenial me-me-me generation gets to play "for free" and purchase any DLC and Crown Store items they desire.
It's so those "console" kiddies don't have to pay-for-internet, pay-for-xbox-live, AND pay-subscription. Now they just pay more for DLC and other stuff.
But don't tell anyone - they haven't figured it out yet.
No DLC at least until console release. 3+ months of no new content. $45 of paid subscription. Do you think the upcoming DLC are going to be more expensive than that? I doubt it. Do you think they're going to come out every month? Certainly not, just look at last year. ZOS might push out all they advertised since QuakeCon, but then the development will slow down again.
"any DLC and Crown Store items they desire" Hmm. Sub: 1500 crowns/month. One guar: 1300 crowns. Any items they desire, indeed... As long as it's max. 2-3 items per month.
Luckily, I'm not interested in "other stuff", so as a console PC kiddie, I suspect I'll be content with my DLC purchased and permanently added to my account, unlike the subscribers who will lose all DLC should they ever unsunbscribe.
Has there been any reason for jumping from 1.6 to 2.0? I mean I know it's because of ESO:TU... but usually a version change indicates a significant increase in the program, not in the pay model of the program. Maybe it's the whole cash shop addition. I guess that's significant.
Kind of confirms that whole "We have been testing for Console Players" theory... Oh well... such is life in Tamriel.
They're certainly marketing it as a re-launch, which is kind of novel as nothing changes except the way to you pay (or not) to play.Has there been any reason for jumping from 1.6 to 2.0? "Reason"?
Sure, 2.0 is an entire relaunch of the game, everything bad has been wiped out and the game is shining now. I guess that's at least what the devs are thinking.
