Light armor typically doesn't have the HP boosts that heavy/medium armor wearing players have which is why armor was mentioned there. Not all players optimize their gear/HP/STA/MAG for surviving in Cyrodiil and while new players entering the zone will have bonus stats to survive weaponry via Battle leveling, the direction to make Siege not over punishing to new players was desired. Siege mitigation changes in 1.6 were aimed at abilities that can mitigate Siege Damage and also Battle leveling stats are being investigated for a future update, and we are still looking at the damage of weapons vs. players with those changes in mind. We are aware that it's on the lighter side of the damage scale at the moment.

Sorry but I don't understand or appreciate this hand holding of the new players. Give me a fricking break. Nobody held MY hand at launch when I was a baby 10 and faced anti personnel siege on the battle field. It's how I LEARNED to avoid it and heal through it. Now you wimp it out to cater to the newbs and the rest of us who take pvp seriously and are used to anti personell siege being a highly effective defense device are what? Just SOL?

I think you might want to read a little more and get caught up

Gee, most people start at the beginning of a thread...but thanks for your advice.

I could be wrong but did they already apply the changes? Seems now it takes only one or two hits and a siege goes down. With the cost of siege what it is this is disheartening. Dare I say siege is a little op'd now.

@ZOS_BrianWheeler this is the most excited for an ESO update i've ever been, science be damned, this is a wizard game and it's about time ice trebs got some love :)

    never said it wouldnt hurt.

get crushed by a 1ton boulder, you will probably die as easily as if you were crushed by a 3 ton boulder..

the real kicker is not so much the weight, but the velocity at impact.

of course all this would require a direct hit =P
I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

I came to Cyrodiil after a long break (6-8 months) and the first things I noticed...

Siege weapons are ridiculously underwhelming, to be honest I would not bother with them at all if not for the wall breaching need...

I had a stack of fire balistas and some fire trebs on me to use on counter sieges (fire balista to kill enemy siege weapons and dmg crews and fire trebs to aim at enemy blobs to possibly one shot some of them) + some oil (good days of ground oil camps).

Fire balistas serve only a purpose of destroying enemy siege eq, but they do not enough dmg vs the amount of dmg the enemy balista spam can do to the wall in the same amount of time that you need to kill them (maybe set enemy eq on fire on 2-3 consecutive hits?)

Trebs are useless, oil is useless, and from what I noticed other siege equipment like meat cata is also useless... I remember days of really cool siege wars with siege equipment battles, now you barely see any siege except stone treb or regular ballista to kill walls.

    WTF did you do?!

Other funny things I noticed are for different sections, but this underwhelming power of siege equipment is a huge deal... my snipe does more dmg than a direct fire ballista shot and I am not even a dedicated archer... ( I have an RP built character who happens to wander on his vet 2 level in Cyrodil a lot)

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.
