We at least have a Necromancer-NPC class. They are everywhere and I don't know why that's no playable class.

Cause they summon a form of pets as a main skill, it would just be a necro sorc who uses pets and fears you from range. Not many like pet users.

It could be pets with a short duration. And Necromancers are much more than just pet summoners. RIFT Necromancer is a class I really like, it's all about death, worms, rotten flesh, frost etc.

It would be a huge lore-break for large numbers of Necromancers to be running around Tamriel in the three factions.

In the time that ESO is set Necromancy was seriously discouraged, a point the game itself makes clear in several contexts, so putting that class in ESO would be as lore-breaking as the Rune-Keeper was in LoTRO.

The other two classes were monk and DK, the monk has been absorb by templars and DK renamed DK. That's it.

Lore breaking doesn't seem to stop Zenimax, Cadwells Silver & Gold are lorebreakers, too, and they made it into the game.

I think there could be some kind of "Soul Mage" instead of Necromancer, like we've already got the Open World line for it. I know the issues with Necromancers and the lore, but it's nothing that could be neglected with a little help. Werewolves and Vampires are in a similar position and they made it into the game, didn't they?

Given that we're talking about a setting where someone quicksaving and quickloading their game actually has a role in the metaphysics... and a setting that actually has books detailing how all of the multiple endings from one of the previous games happened... Cadwell's Gold and Silver aren't really that disruptive.

I'm actually currently unsubbed (but somehow able to post?) and waiting for B2P. Mix of frustrations with the game and busy RL (for anyone who cares, lol.)
Thanks Nord. Frustrated myself, and I imagine it's doubly hard if you started back when you did.

Uh, now you sound like you've never seen the game. Tamriel is already crawling with power-hungry necromancers and their legions of undead. Everybody and their mother is a vampire or a werewolf. Summoned daedra are running amok in every town and village and nobody bats an eye. Can you honestly say a necromancy skill line would be out of place in this setting?

Wouldn't it be the other way around? DKs are shown with one-hander+shield, which tends to be considered defensive, while Templars are shown with a two-handed axe, which tends to be considered offensive?

Lol. I play the opposite. Sword and Board Imperial Templar and a two-handed Redguard DragonKnight.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Yeah, that is what's wonderful about the ESO classes. Being able to say, "screw intent" and making your own thing out of the class. Even more than the single player Elder Scrolls games allowed.

    That's hilarious. I can't believe I did that, lol!!!!

I'll change the link to the one I intended to post when I get home.

I don't disagree and I think DKs in the game are very defensively capable (and offense, lol). They're now know as the tank class.

But this was before we had skill lines to judge and a lot of people made bad assumptions.

Yea. It really is. I'm not a min/maxer in any way. I don't look at DPS or anything... I just play. If an area or boss is too hard for me I just say to myself "I guess I need to get stronger and come back later". Needless to say, I'm not a 'competitive' player in any way... I just have fun in my own way.

I have wanted a hunter class from beta, playing a bow, having specifics detailed to me (more than the cpl bow skills they tossed in) is a big part of what has been missing for *me* in ESO. :(
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!
