IMO the fire damage penalty for vampires will never outweight any possible benefits the skill tree gives, especially for anyone in a non-damage role (healers/tanks). Better off avoiding it, there are too many dungeon bosses and enemies that throw fire around like confetti in this game to be taking a 40% increase from fire damage, especially when a lot of those sources nearly 1-shot non vamps already.

yeah the only bonus vamp brings to healing is the +10% magicka regen.

the downsides far outweigh it at this point in time. plus vamp argonians look awkward
    ESO player since beta.
previously full time subscriber, beta-2024, now off and on, game got too disappointing.

So, I just tested Mutagen because I've read conflicting posts on the forums.

The tooltip reads: "Allies with less than 20% Health are healed for an additional X Health and have one harmful effect removed."

How we though it worked: set and forget, if the target drops below 20% hp during the 20 seconds Mutagen is ticking, they get the bonus.

How it actually works: target must be at or below 20% hp when Mutagen is *applied* or they do not receive the bonus heal.
    1. I let a wolf chomp away at my HP. Once I reached 18% HP, I cast Mutagen and got a bonus "tick" of healing. Mutagen usually ticks for 334 and I got a bonus tick of 1,443 along with the first tick of the HOT.
    2. I jumped off a building and my hp dipped to lower than 20% with Mutagen already cast and I received no bonus tick of healing.
Eons ago, when I used to play, NBs took Mutagen because the 20 second HOT allowed for easier managing of Funnel Health refreshing, swapping bars to Quick Siphon, etc. Is it worth keeping Mutagen for the extra 3.5 second duration or should every healer from every class dump it immediately for Rapid Regeneration as the extra bonus heal isn't working as expected? If someone is at or below 20% hp, the last thing I'm gonna do try to refresh Mutagen.

As far as vampire goes, I really really don't think it's worth it at all. The first time you get one shot like 4 times in a single fight because of a silly unavoidable fire mechanic, you'll see why I think this way. You can build around fire resist, bit then you're losing other things to make up for the fire weakness.
As far as rapid regen and mutagen, either morph is great. Taking one morph over the other will hardly change anything. I still like mutagen a bit better, but it's really a matter of your opinion.

He's the healer Tamriel deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hurt his tank. Because he can heal them to full. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful rejuvinator. A Cloaked Healer.

NB healing is just great. I use a similar build as the TO while playing my Imperial NB.

The synergy advantage of running three HoTs (Funnel Health, Refreshing Path, Rapid Regeneration/Mutagen) at the same time is just awesome.

Especially Funnel Health and Refreshing Path need to be highlighted.

Funnel Health, a skill that costs you next to nothing concerning magicka with maybe 20+ CPs, dots enemies for over 4k damage and heals you and 2 allies, is just insane.

Refreshing Path ticks for ~ 600 non crit for me right now and this every 0.5 seconds not just every second.

As a slightly off topic update, I rarely ever run with a "healer" anymore except for 12 man trials. A decent Magika Nightblade dpsing provides more than enough heals to keep a group alive if they don't stand in stupid. Running 3 dps makes things die super quickly and therefore they do less damage.

Any thoughts on which item sets you would use for healing in the newest update?

I recommend not just a new gear/build setup for healing the new content, but a class change. Get a templar. At moment - on V16 gold niveau - this game has just one healing class left -> templars. In addition this class is the only one that is able to give stamina support in addition.

When you ask me if I am pissed about that (I had a NB healer too) ?

    You can't imagine...

I'm interested in how you fair in vet darkshade and vet CoA without a dedicated healer?

Still a terribly wrong statement. Incredibly wrong. I've still healed everything.
I will do a full new build soon, but the basic skill setup is the same. No huge changes there.
As far as gear, I'm going to go with a few different setups for different things:
Trial healing (where no other healer is wearing spell power cure) 2 pc molag kenna, 5pc spell power cure, 3 pc willpower, master resto staff.
If you want straight spell power for dps and healing: 4pc overwhelming, 2pc molag kenna, 3pc willpower, 2pc torags pact.
If you need your gear to help you never run out of magicka, which I don't then I'd work in something like magnus instead of overwhelming. You could do 5pc magnus, 2pc molag, 3pc willpower, master resto.

If I'm assinged as "healer" of a 4 man group in all but a few of the new fights, I just use my dps setup except a resto staff on my off bar and I change 1 ability for healing ward. There is typically enough hots going around to keep people up as long as they can avoid some mechanics. I have actually solo'd Vet Engine guardian from about 75% because the rest of the group decided to stand in his flame thrower mechanic... and I just wanted to see if I could.
