If this wasn't based on ElderScrolls, would you still be here playing?

ElderScrolls fans are extremely loyal to the franchise, often putting up with bugged games until they are fixed.
Every single Bethesda game has its problems, and this one though not by Bethesda still suffers the curse.
So, if it wasn't an ES game, let's say if it was another game would you still have subscribed and be playing now.?

No. I don´t play MMO´s. Just because it was an TES game I am still playing it. Hope they make it much better because I am getting bored.

Hard question. If it wasn't an ESO game would it still have the same races and classes? If there weren't any ESO lore, what would be in its place?

If this game was called "Unlimited online" and it was not based on TES i would probably played it at start and quit after 1.5.x. I play now because it's a TES game. I hope more features of TES will come to this game. Also i enjoy(ed) PvP, but i think PvP is ruined now because of:
    - faster paced action, looks like im playing Quake
    - more lag
    - laser shows
    - unresponsive clunky movement. Feels no good control over character

I do like the justice system.

So, if this was another game title with no TES connection i would have quit already. There is more to do then in Archeage. But i don't play Archeage because it involved me to grind to get Hasla gear to compete in PvP. I hate grinding. But overall the game has more freedom and also has a good justice system with jail.

"I am a nightblade. Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

I think it should have beeen included. If it wasn't an Elder Scrolls game, I wouldn't be in any position to judge its development during the first year because I wouldn't have bought it at all. Therefore my "no" isn't indicative of the game's quality and my satisfaction with ZOS's decisions.

To be honest, I am hardly playing the game any longer as it is, but if this game had not been set in Tamriel, I would not have bothered with it in the first place.

I voted no, but 'maybe' would be more accurate as it depends on what game they would have made instead.

I don't have the time to play every game that comes out in my favourite genres (particularly because most of those are RPGs that can last for hundreds or thousands of hours) and it's mainly the story, setting and lore that attracts me to specific games rather than the mechanics.

If ZOS had started from scratch and managed to come up a game with unique but comparable lore to the Elder Scrolls series, something that made their world fun to explore and play in, then yes I would be playing it. If they had slapped some generic fantasy archetypes on the same mechanics we have now and left it at that, probably not.

All and all the game is good and has potential to be better. I like the environment, I like the character creation, I like the freedom they give me play way I want, imo I like how people are listened too, I like how they have gotten rid of bots and gold spammers.

Does that not mean that the game has problems no it doesn't or that things could have been done differently or better. But, I do realize its a game that imo a lot of time and love was put into this and that will continue be put into it. I was never a big elder scroll person I played a few of the games never finished them. That's not to say they weren't good or great games just didn't get into them for whatever reason. So my playing this game has nothing to do with ES or its lore nor could I care less about it. I play the game cause way it is and could be
When asked what he would do for a Klondike bar. Grand Moff Tarkin said "why I would blow up Alderaan."

    Can I vote "Double No?"

Like others have stated, I would never have played this game in the first place if it wasn't an ES game. When it was announced I was very excited about being able to play with friends, and I was very excited about the PvP aspects of the game. Playing against other people brings a challenge that can't be simulated with any kind of AI.

I've watched the game progress since Beta, and I do not think it's progressed in a positive direction. I only play now because of whatever "attachment" I have to my characters and my appreciation of the Elder Scrolls franchise. The storytelling, immersiveness, and ambiance is not as good as the single player games, but it's not bad. Take that away, and there's nothing left to interest me in this game. The PvP still needs balancing, and thanks to the champion system will probably only be fun to the people who treat this game as a full time job.

This game may end up being the "Star Wars Christmas Special" of the franchise.

Redguard, for what it was (a side-scrolling do-what-we-say story game) halfway decent for the time. Not amazing but it beat out Tomb Raider for plot (not that kind of plot).

Battlespire was similar but the Deathmatch aspect was REALLY interesting and the story was decent too if a bit... lame.

I played Rift since it was in beta and the only thing that could pry me away from that game was Elder Scrolls. Yes, I would go back to it when Skyrim, Oblivion or Morrowind felt stale (usually once my character became powerful and two hitting everything). I've played ESO exclusively for over a year and I'm too far removed from Rift, now to even start over again - I demand the ESO-style combat in all MMOs; no more mashing number keys in sequential order.

I don't think I would've started playing it if it wasn't Elder Scrolls.

That said if I was somehow convinced to play it, I'd probably stick around after because it's a fun game.

There's an agenda behind this post, isn't there? Implying the only reason people are playing such a "terrible game" is because "it's an Elder Scrolls Game".

I don't play MMOs, and I wouldn't have given this game a shot if it wasn't TES. Therefore it's hard to see myself playing this game without TES even if it was still a good game because I never would have started playing in the first place.

once the next elder scrolls comes out, ill likely stop playing this. no offense to zos, but i play for story and exploration. they focus so much on the pvp, it will eventually ruin this mmo, if it hasnt already. ZOS the only way ill stay playing this game after the next TES comes out is if you make a ton of solo repeatable content. IF you want a good idea to go off, play GW2, dont go to the pvp, just muck around in the pve content, youll see a winning combination to keep people playing even after they have finished the storyline
