Yes but we are seeking an instant heal and not any HoTs. Perhaps I just have to start all over and be a Dragonknight for the awful animation of Dragonblood lol.

I meant that I was under the impression that Entrophy heals you when it's cast on target and on top off the instant heal ALSO provide a HoT

Why are you so against HOTs? If you dropped the bow or your dual wield you could pick up rapid regeneration + quick siphon and heals thousands of hp a second with no spell investment even more if you actually put some stats into magic and spell damage.

As long as you use multi-hit abilities within your rotation you should have plenty of healing.

Pretty much use soul tether for soloing as my "oh crap I'm gonna die" go to move. Pretty effective even with a group now.

Resto staff. Blessing of Protection. Done.

Also any other resto staff ability. Also Healing Ward. Ward when low, and when it expires, mega heal.

Use resto staff in randem with Strife and Drain Power, and you'll be healing yourself and everyone else.

NB does not need to be more like other classes. NB should remain different.

Get vigor from the assault tree.

Bone shield from undaunted also helps fill a gap in the class.

Every class is unique, not all of them will have the same abilities. Use non class trees to make up for it and play to your class' strengths.

Killers blade and reapers mark both heap on kill. Sap essence heals based on number of targets hit with it. Funnel health heals over time.

The restoration skill line offers good enough self heals using rapid regen/mutagen and healing ward for a magicka nightblade.

The assault skill line offers good enough healing using vigor and rally in combination for a stamina nightblade.

If you're struggling with the HOT's try to play them towards your advantage, slotting "Swallow soul" in combination with any other heal will still give you the (9?) percentage bonus from received healing.

I agree with the others that classes have to remain unique in the matter of self heals, shields and escapes, otherwise ZOS might as well make all the trees available to everyone.

With just Sap Essence alone you can do 30k Healing Per Second for entire 12-person group on trash-packs in Sanctum Ophidia, rendering your main healer a minor healerster. For most of the single-target Funnel Health fights it doesn't drop below 5k HPS. As a Nightblade myself, I think that's fair enough.

Still not a good self-heal, eh? Try Sorcerer.

The answer is, you have to change one of your weapons.

Rally is the only meaningful burst heal for Stamina Nightblades.

Vigor is the only decent heal available to your weapon choices.
Vigor is a HoT though.

Nightblades have a lot of self healing when specced for it.

-Funnel Health, in a well done build hits raid tier resistances (which are above what the majority of enemies in pvp run, and once the nirnhoned Nerf hits next patch... it'll nearly match the tankiest enemies) for between 11,500 to 12,000 damage non-crit and gives us (+2 nearby friends) an HOT of around 3300-3400 every two seconds (it can be cast repeatedly and the hot ticks immediately again when it lands), and both the initial hit and the hot ticks can crit, drastically raising the healing (which at base is 25% of the damage dealt, per tick).

-Sap Essence, which is a moderately high damage pbaoe and heals everyone near you, including yourself, for a moderate amount that scales higher based on how many enemies you hit, additionally giving us our spell damage buff consantly.

-Reaper's Mark, which is a mitigation debutf, gives us Berserk on kill, and heals for a whopping 63% of our max health. So long as the enemy it's on, including pets, guards, or anything else, dies while it's on them, we get the heal and the huge buff, regardless of when we had cast it on them, and it's a 20 second debuff.

-Restoration Staff skills, like every other class, are available (Blessing of Protection heals for much more than green dragon'sblood can in most situations, can crit, gives both of the minor mitigation buffs, and heals other people too... while not being dependent on being almost dead to do its healing). Ward Ally shields us and a friend, when used at low health it is the strongest shield in the entire game by a very large margin, and then your hot's top your health back up while protected.

-Dampen Magicka, an extremely high value shield against spell attacks (igneous shield tops out at around 1/2 to 1/3 of the shielding value depending on the exact builds being compared, typically), has no weapon requirement, and gains from the natural armor choice you want to take as a caster looking to get healing or protection.

-Dark Cloak, which gives us a ton of buffs and benefits, also cleanses several dot's.

The tools we have are available to us and strong, arguably the best for leech dpshealing, and easily as good as others in raw healing output. It's up to you to spec them if you want to heal.

my nb is dw with a resto staff. i use hot and the bubble from the resto staff line. bubble, hot and cloak or mist form and you are 100%

You'll get used to not having the direct class heal. I feel like I'd be pretty OP if I had that on my NB...

Perhaps when spellcraft comes out we will have the option to MAKE a heal spell!

Fingers crossed, but at the same time I am not patient and will be heading back to WoW if I do not find a solution to the heals lol.

Good luck with that... I predict spellcrafting to come (IF it ever comes) in .... 2018 if the game isn't dead lol ?

its either that or go 2H for Rally...

no self heals but can use a resto staff for healing ward/combat prayer or the other morph.
also, vigor will be reduced in rank
also, the heal on 2H is nice.
Nb do not have a self heal because they are an attack attack attack class to get health from marked target, killer's blade, blood craze on DW, and various siphoning abilities. OR
escapability with speed buff, dodge, dodge chance

i do not believe that they should get a self-heal and my main is a v14 nb. this class is meant to be elusive, burst dps, and killer which plays into why the skills are the way they are for NB. giving them a self-class heal would make them op. they would the best dps, especially burst/ single target, they would be the most elusive, they would have a self heal in class.

A DK is meant to be durable and take damage with nice sustained dps. lack of escapability and high burst/ single target.

A temp is a healer and should have a powerful heal b/c well thats their class. they also have good sustained dps but lack escapability and highend burst/ single target.

Fixed that for ya. NBs don't have any class instant burst healing and yes I do agree with most people here saying that NBs are elusive so no need for burst healing and yada yada. The only reason I left Dark Cloak above is because I believe that this skill is staple for NBs as it is used for health, some magicka and stam regens (HoTs included). That's why i'm looking forward to the long-awaited major fix for Cloak on the next patch. So no more breaking out of invisibility. Hopefully..

What the OP is trying to say is that there is not a single class burst healing ability if you roll NB. A bit of a downer for a few people and I can see why.

I have 2 v14 nb's one magicka one stamina this is a none issue you don't need a burst heal on a nb. dw bow for trash use sap essence or mark 1 with reapers mark. for a large boss stack hots and vanish while they tick or alternitively use the shadow barrier passive effectively to have the equivalent of heavy armour on and burst any wb down before it drops you below 50%. or as mentioned change a weapon and have rally.

Your best option is to go as a assassination Night blade.

1) The first skill of the assassination tree is Assassins Blade. It Cost little stamina and has a 300% damage boost, when attacking low health enemies. Use it \ level it up, until you can morph it. Once you morph it: it unlocks an additional ability where you get 17% health back if you kill an enemy with it. Keep using the ability to level it up to 20% health back.

2) Keep using the Assassination tree to unlock more skills until you get to: Mark Target. It weakens a target for 17 seconds and when that target dies you get 37% health back. Once the ability is morphed and leveled up, it will last 30 seconds and can give you back 57% max health. level up the morphed ability to get it to 60%.

So basically, you mark somebody, and kill them with your assassin blade and you get 80% of your health back. Every Kill. LOL. It's a nightblade killing frenzy. If you catch yourself about to die when in a big fight like in PVP, cloak and mark someone in the distance about to die and you still will get 60% health back when they die, wheter you touched them or not. lol. This get's much worse with passive abilities, but i'll leave it at this. Can't give all my secrets
