If they reduced it they would then increase it back to above where it is now to balance it out. Sort of like how if they buff something about a class they always nerf something else into the ground to balance it out. I am fine with them just leaving respec costs exactly where they are indefinitely.

Your supposed to spend all your gold respecing to figure out the new system guys. It is how they intend to remove the gold you have all horded during the beta before the launch from the economy.

Fair? Just be glad they didn't wipe your toons. That was what they wanted to do.

Regarding the bolded portion of your statement above, what's the source on it? Curious, because this is the first I've heard of a character wipe.

And, if true, it is a good thing Zeni didn't do it. They likely would have lost a lot of the player base.

I'm being facetious. I believe ZOS always viewed this year of PC monthly subscription play as a beta for their important microtransaction free to play console model. I don't think a subscription only game with new content every few months (what they said they intended to do) was ever really part of the plan. I also believe at some point ZOS will allow porting of accounts from PC to console for a cost. That, coupled with the large amount of new subscribers they expect from going free to play, gives them a big incentive to make sure older players do not own newer ones in PVP or exclude them from leaderboards in PVE. The best way to do this would be to wipe all toons like at the end of beta. I don't think they thought they could get away with this so instead they did not reward people the CP they were due and promised, destroyed the difficult to acquire powerful gear sets they might have, held off all balancing till the last minuit so they would have to relearn every aspect of how to play their toons, and inflated the economy. It's not a complete toon wipe but it gets a good portion of the way. If they thought they could do more they would have. I'm sure if you have any clever ideas for how to get closer to a toon wipe they will be all ears.

As for alienating the player base, I'm sure everyone has their own opinions on that.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

Apparently this plea, like many before it, has fallen upon deaf ears.

They keep deleting my bumps, so the post is being noticed.

Whether or not they actually care is a different story.

@ZOS_TristanK hook a brotha up and get this looked at as well. You guys DID set the precedent and it's only logical.

Because it's the plea of people who could just get the gold and get a respec.

They already slashed the price of a full respec and added the option to do morphs only. There's really no reason anyone shouldn't be able to afford a respec if they really feel they need one.

That's not actually the point though. They radically changed the core systems of the game. Those of us who were not on PTS have to learn to play all over again. If I'm leveling a new character, it's not a big deal. But with a Vet character I have all these points I HAVE to reassign in order to be able to play at all and I'm forced to do it pretty much blind. Therefore it would be a polite bit of excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE for ZOS to do the right thing and give us some free time to learn this brand new system they have thrust on us and do some experimenting.

You have 300+ skillpoints available. How much flexibility are you really missing?

I have 125 as a vr14, because I'm a PVPer at heart. It cost over 3k for a respec that I'll never see again and I earned by using my own personal time. Irrelevant anyways as I'm btching about the attribute costs.

Any healer that went full magicka right off the hop would have to do this if they enjoy Trials, not just me.

Please do humor me, why don't we deserve a free respec to test out the new mechanics?
Don't you dare tell me to download another 40GB+ PTS on my 60gb/month bandwidth either.

Because 3k is a measly amount of gold, which could easily be earned 10 times over if you really needed that many respecs.

If you're one of the players who's obsessed with always having the flavor-of-the-minute build, then you shouldn't have any problem keeping up a steady income of gold to support your respeccing. Most people don't need that.

Just put ALL of your points into HEALTH. Use the Champion System to help reduce the cost of spells (either magicka or stamina). Wear a mixture of 5/1/1 (whatever armor type helps your main role/other/other). Problem solved.
