Can someone explain to me why magicka NBs are dead in 1.6?

I haven't played the PTS but I've caught that stamina builds are sexy. Why are magicka builds no longer viable?

Psychotius✭✭✭I suspect that some of the more preferred NB abilities now have Stamina costs rather than Magicka costs, thought I honestly haven't looked into it very hard. I prefer Stamina based myself, so I haven't closely followed the arguments about Magicka being broke in the update.I'm not as am as you drunk I think.0 -

Well I know that Ambush & couple other abilities went stamina but it's got to be more than that one would think.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Its not so much that Magic is broke, its that Stamina is now viable. The problem is, Hybrids are much weaker than focused characters. Before I could put both Magic and Stamina skills on my bar and use them both effectively. Now, I will want to either be Stamina or Magic focus.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Kerioko✭✭✭✭Funnel Health and Crushing Shock, the two primary range nuke abilities used for sustain dps by magicka NB's have both had their damage reduced significantly...and with Lotus Fan as the magicka version of ambush, melee magicka NB is far behind stamina based. Spamming funnel health or crushing shock will now net you about 5-7K dps on a magicka dps build...spam wrecking blow on a stam build gives you 10-15K. Are you sure?
Check out my findings from 1.6.2. Not sure how much they changed in the last few updates, but changing attributes made very little difference maxing out Sta or Magic.

This. I also think when people say "Magicka NBs," they are referring to melee-style Magicka users (Light Armor with 1h/shield), rather than strictly Destro/Resto staff users. Ambush and Concealed Strike (and Power Extraction), some of the key NB melee PvP abilities, will now scale off Stamina instead of Magicka. I believe those changes are what most people were discussing, though this seems to have died down some as perhaps people caught on that there were other changes and builds that will keep Magicka-based NBs viable.

reasons: magica nightblade lost all hart hitters without compensation to stamina, light armor got significantly nerfed while medium armor got magnificent buffs. due to covering defense for magica userers behind severe CP walls to make them efficent in LA magica users lost alot of additional but needed defensive efficiency to become worthwhile.spelling and grammar errors are free to be abused
