[Suggestion] There's something missing from the crown store..

Today whilst checking out the PTS, I noticed something odd about the crown store. I continued to study the stores contents for several minutes until I finally realized that NO CHARACTER NAME AND APPEARANCE CHANGE SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE.

All jokes aside, this is a real problem. These are basic services in every single MMO I have ever come across. I have searched through countless forums and interviews, trying to find out whether you guys have the intention of ever implementing these features but all I can find is "we're looking into it".

You guys KNOW that players want the option to change their name, race, appearance.
You KNOW that, for the games longevity in a B2P model, the crown store will need to become a major source of revenue. It needs these services!
These services are in no way "pay-to-win". They are simply cosmetic and convenient.

It really is a win-win situation. In fact I literally cannot think of a single downside, let alone one that negates the thousands of benefits. What are you guys waiting for?

I'd bet that they are waiting until the update after to add all the major stuff. They want us to spend all our crowns on the first bit of content first, like mounts.

You're not the only one! I have a friend (a fellow Guild Officer, in fact) who has deleted multiple Veterans due to running out of character space. One of them was V12!

People have made comments about wanting extra characters just for the increased inventory slots, but if people are paying real money for their extra characters, does it matter? Seems more honest somehow than having two accounts.

Also, it's not unreasonable to want a character of each of the ten races.

I would love to get a race change. just make a special package or somthing, "Tamriel Unlimited Special" where you get to change race appearance and name.
Or a faction change you get to buy a scroll called "Traitor scroll" and initiate a special quest for changing factions or somthing.
    make it costs 3k crowns.

Race change can be explained. Its a world full of Magic is it not.

Option 1: The player obtains an ancient scroll and upon reading it a terrible curse has befallen the player. Race is changed to xyz. This is a curse and greatly effects the players relationships.

This could be fun RolePlaying trying to convince friends and family its me even though I look different.

Option 2: Player has been a spy and the magical disguise has finally worn off. He was always the "newly selected race" but was working undercover for some noble/nonferrous deed.

As a world with magic a racial change could be easily explained due to magic. This will not take anything away from immersion.

D&D even had racial change, though it was normally not something characters would seek out and was more a handicap for characters.

I made a suggestion similar to this about a week ago, and got 0 replies, LOL. Glad to see a few approve of the idea this time around.

Race change is a touchy subject, and I can see a lot of potential hangups, but I see no reason why we can't have an appearance makeover at some point in case you want to alter your hair colour, adornments, eye colour, etc. It wouldn't affect gameplay or storylines at all.

Pure and simple, they can't offer a race change until an appearance editor is in the game because changing race changes your appearance.

a quest u can buy, searching for a lost ancient ayleid device, only accessible by buying the quest. the ayleids developed it in their dying days to infiltrate the alessians and undermine their power, and return the 'master race' to power in cyrodiil...

It would be a problem for immersion if people could freely change their appearance every 5 min out of sheer boredom, or for attention. If it costs something substantial and has some time-frame limitations, it wouldn't significantly interfere with anyone else's Elder Scrolls experience. Anyone who claims it's messing up their immersion to see a familiar character appearing differently needs to either:
    a) assume it's someone else who happens to have the same name (practical and realistic), or
    b) get more creative in their RP, and come up with a feasible way to perceive/explain it to themselves
    c) seek professional help for obsessive compulsive disorder, and stop blaming their own inner anxieties on everyone around them -- especially people who are just enjoying the other-worldly experience that ESO gives them; and part of that for them is being able to be whoever they want, whenever they want (within reason, and the respective limits of available races/looks/abilities/etc.).

I really don't have the ability to comprehend why they're holding back from this, especially when they themselves do a great deal of editing their own works on this game. Obviously I myself, and many others, are missing what exactly is going through their minds about this.
One thing this tells me though is when they hopefully do implement these changes eventually, they will neglect important aspects of character refining. Things most people don't tend to really realize are off until later on, like how fitting their voice is. It's disappointing to see they're so neglectful, especially when it seems this general need is much desired by many customers and will be by many more to come. It feels pointlessly rude to their fan-base.

You and I have plenty of this, though I've never actually felt this urge on another person's creations and doubt you have either. Professional help, I agree is well advised.

Don't look into someone's eyes, if you fear what they'll see in yours.

Yeah, best to limit the application of OCD only to your own creations, and let others tend to their works and mental problems in their own ways. XD

Guess what, there's one already that you use to create your character. All they need to do is to implement changing the variables on already existing character file. From programmer's perspective, it's not really that complicated once you already have a proper interface. And they do.

To be honest, I'm not really a big fan of "race changing". You made your choice - stick to it. BUT since 1 year ago no one could ever expect that they will remove soft-caps and racials will become one of the most important passives on your character, I agree that race-change should be allowed. At least once.
