I've already got 3 V14 characters that I respec often, It doesn't take much time do it and your finger wont hurt.

Several of my chars will need to be changed completely, I hope to heck they do a full reset. Just apply the points the next time you play a char, it really is not that hard, lol just wait until you start assigning all your champion points.

Would you be able to remember where all of the skill points are for 16 characters, ranging from level 16 to VR5?

It's going to be a real pain in the ass to go and assign all of those skill points and attribute points all over again... Oh well, it's not unworkable, it's just a pain, as I don't imagine there will be that much that I want to change for most of my characters. I've never been a min-maxer, so as long as my current skills don't become useless, I'll probably keep most of them.

Full respec is good, but we still need an individual respec in game instead of all or nothing.

They are not offering you a respec they are reseting the skills to prevent errors or old skills stacking with new ones or UI errors etc..The alternative is dealing with a crap load of potential bugs or giving you a free resepc, which is something I personally like. Plus it doesn't take that long to respec and most people play 2-8hrs a day so 10min of respec wont give anyone carpal tunnel.

I spent a bunch of gold to respec my attributes a few weeks ago before 1.6 hit PTS and I found out they are offering that for free when it hits Live. DOH!!!! That being said, I am glad they are giving us a free respec.

People aren't being lazy or saying don't have a respec, they're asking for some control over it rather than having a forced reset on first log-in. They're also asking for a short period in which further respecs can be done cheaply or freely in order that they can experiment with the different skills and builds. This is a massive change to the game, probably the only one of its kind, and it needs to be handled carefully.

The point EsORising makes about an initial forced reset being required in order to avoid problems with incompatible skill settings is a good one, but it doesn't relate to my second point about a short period for further respecs as people experiment or seek to make good any initial mistakes.

Doubtless a lot of players will have been playing around on the PTS optimising their builds and they'll have no problem getting it right first time, but most won't have done so. One of the main reasons for having a short period for further respecs is to avoid all the tickets that players will otherwise doubtless put in when they realise they've applied the skill points wrongly.

It's clearly too late now for any changes to be made to the announced initial forced reset, and the reasoning behind that may well be valid, but it isn't too late to drop the shrine prices for a week so that people can play around with their builds and avoid troubling ZOS over them.

Bull. It's not just click click click, and you know it. Unless you're just selecting everything entirely at random without caring about having a build that simply won't work, it's going to take a minimum of 10 minutes per character. For me that means a minimum of 2 hours and 40 minutes spent logged in to the game, but not playing.

Also, I notice you avoided answering the question. That speaks volumes.

The point isn't that we won't remember our spec. The point is that the WHOLE GAME IS CHANGING. What worked for you before very well may NOT work so well now. If you're a lower level character it's not a huge deal. But if you're already a Vet character you will need to reset your attributes and skills quickly...and without having the faintest idea of how you should do it. We need a little time to play with this new system before we commit to a build. Being forced to reset all my skills and attributes on log in pretty much guarantees I'll be forced to do an expensive respec later. Have they seriously not considered this? Do the reset if you feel you have to ZOS but give us at LEAST ONE free respec after that so we can relearn the darn game! Please!
