Major Bug: Nirnhoned Weapons Allow You To Ignore 100% Of Enemy Spell Resist

This bug has been in the game since release for 2h weapons with the sharpened trait, and now this same bug is on nirnhoned weapons. It makes spell resistance completely worthless, and allows massive 20k crystal frags and more. This should be patched and fixed immediately.

    Add it to the list of why this patch is no where near ready for live.
    Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
    Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
    Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
    Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
    Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
    Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
    Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

    @sabresandiego_ESO This isn't true. Nirnhorned has been completely broken and inferior to sharpened since the release of the trait. I did extensive testing on spell penetration before I took my 3 month haitus after they nerfed sharpened.

    In 1.6 they "Fixed" Nirnhorned to work the way it should be working but the *real* issue is the math behind their spell penetration is bugged and has been since release.

    With enough spell penetration you can actually not only fully pierce spell resistance but you can somehow give your spells a *bonus* damage amount as well. To "Fix" sharpened they just jacked up the numbers and drastically lowered the benefit that it offers.

    A legendary sword with 7% Spell penetration does not pierce more than a 2 hand staff with 6% penetration....it doesn't even pierce *close* to that. No 1 hand weapons apply penetration correctly with sharpened, you're almost better off not using it on a 1 hand. I tried using 2 1hand weapons with sharpened as well to the same effect, the numbers of penetration they provide are arbitrary.

    In fact a base sharpened staff provides as much spell penetration as a legendary nirnhorned staff on live. I didn't have a nirnhorned 1 hand to do testing to see if it shares the same fault as sharpened on PTS.

    On PTS using just a Nirnhorned staff and no other penetration will not give you 100% penetration. You need the light armor penetration buff or the apprentice mundus.

    the *real* issue is the math

    I think it's pretty clear by now that ZOS sadly can't handle math. Their numbers, be it about damage, droprates or consistency between items/classes have always been full of errors.

    Nirnhorned didn't exist at launch....and it is only "Bugged" in 1.6

    Sharpened was bugged at launch yes, Nirnhorned was not. See my post above.

    A Legendary Nirnhorned Staff on live right now provides *less* spell penetration than a normal sharpened staff.

    Well thats not enough most likely.

    Without nirnhoned weapon i´ve been getting my tooltip dmg reduced by about 80%(only passive mitigation no block or anything active) against heavy armor 3600 champ point builds. If nirnhoned would atleast partially counter that it should stay as long as dmg mitigations this high are possible imho.

    I doubt most people will be rocking too much more than 12K spell ress without various buffs. The person I tested with had two seperate armor buffs active when I was testing.

    Either way I agree, someone with a Nirnhorned staff and other forms of spell penetration should be able to fully a certain amount of spell ress.

    Nirnhoned completely ignores 30k resists. Only Thing it doesnt ignore is 20% pvp mitigation and champ resists which cant bedre penetrated at All.
