Spell Critical Bug

Hey all,

My spell critical value is ~650% on my character page (yes 650, not 65). While this is a bug alone;

My spell critical values are just crazy. In a single combat, lets say liquid lightning makes 30% crit, meanwhile CF makes 0% or sometimes 90% (btw I do not proc CF I wawe it). Or totally different values are happening with many different spells. For instance how come my restoring twilight makes 100% crit?

Using inner light or not using it is not making any difference.

Is that only me or anyone else has the same? Should I fill a bug report in the game?

    I'm going to guess that your character page 650% is due to you using a broken add-on.

    As for some spells critting at odd amounts, I too have noticed some oddities in this. As a Sorc, my pets seem to ALWAYS crit less than my average while something like Force Pulse crits way more. It is most likely just the RNG gods being weird but I wouldn't be surprised if there was something out of whack with pets or perhaps other skills as well.

    @meaglar , turn off Harven's addons (Softcap info/extended stats) then /reloadui.

    Your critical is fine, just displaying wrong.
    Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    force pulse is 3 separate hits that all have their own chance to crit, so really there is three times the chance of a crit on each cast. also 3 chances to proc evil hunter.

    But with how %'s work, it shouldn't matter if Force Pulse hit 1000 times per cast.

    The crit numbers can be confusing, some are regular values (like mage light gives 2099 spell crit) and some are percentages (like the Serpent set gives 2% weapon crit). I dont understand why they dont use percentages for all crit rating.

    I dont understand why they dont use percentages for all crit rating.

    Probably because percentages are confusing when it is not clear what base they are calculated from.

    Let's say you have a 50% chance to crit, and find an item that says 'increases crit chance by 50%'.

    Now you have two possible interpretations. Either by equipping this item, your chance to land a critical hit will be 100% (if the base for the item % bonus is your normal hit), or your chance to land a critical hit will be 75% (if the base for the item % bonus is your already-existing crit chance, so 50)

    You mentioned the problem right there, increased x% chance often gets added but sometimes its multiplied. Let say you have 20% spell crit and you find a set that increases your spell crit by 5% the added value is 25% but the multiplied its 20%*1,05=21% spell crit. So the description itself is faulty if you ask me.

    The correct way to display it would be:
    -Inner light: adds 10% spell critical and adds 5% to your max magicka.

    I just dont see the point in using values and converting them into a percentage.

    I do not use that add-on but I use some others like FTC. when I go back home I will try shuting down all the add-ons and see if it fixes the funny numbers.

    May be even the weired crit percentages are also related with that... I will post once I get some results.

    So I figured, indeed it was a soft cap tracker Add-on making the weired number in the character screen.

    But once I fixed this, I have realised, the spell crit pot is not increasing the spell crit at all. Is that meant to be lke this? I guess I should see increased crit value in char screen?

    when you allready have the major spell crit buff the pot wont do a thing ;)

    because in 1.6 you can only have each buff once
