ESO won't install launcher

Click the download game button on account page and run it and it gets to 100% and closes but no launcher/desktop icon shows up. No error message, nothing in the task manager. Tried installing from the disc and get the same problem. Run the .exe directly and hit install and it closes and nothing in task manager either. Turned off my firewall/antivirus and it still does the samething. I've restarted and still doesn't work. Went into msconfig and turned off startup items and disbled everything that isn't microsoft. Still nothing. I literally JUST got the game today too. I played the beta, so I KNOW my pc can/has played it before.

Please give the following steps a shot and let us know if it helps!

If the launcher is acting erratic or not opening at all, Players should go to their Control Panel, click on Network and Internet and open Internet Options.

1. Connections Tab: Click on LAN settings. On the LAN settings window, uncheck all the boxes and click on OK.
2. Advanced Tab: Click on Reset and then click on Reset again.
3. Restart the computer

I'm trying to install ESO and running into the same problem as the user above. I've tried everything including the steps above and nothing seems to help. I just can't get this thing to get past the extractor. I double-click on the Install_ESO file it runs, gets to 100% and nothing happens.

Like the user above, I've tried running as admin, disabling anti-virus, turning off everything I can possibly think of, etc., etc.

At this point I'm ready to just give up as this is getting ridiculous.

I currently have 7 MMOs installed atm and haven't had a problem with a single one of them...only ESO. And, when considering the dozens of other install threads I've already seen in my limited time on these forums, I can only assume it's on Zen's end.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Raeshlavik's fix here worked perfectly for me on windows 7 and works for windows 8 as well
