Crafting Write Unreachable

Why would you assume my crafting character would be a high level character? My character is a level 10 with 50 in provisioning and you want me to turn in my writ in Windhelm but I can't get there because Fort Virak is blocking me. You should make it so that writs can be turned in at each large city per zone.

Have you tried porting to a guild member in Eastmarch? There is a good chance you will be ported into Windhelm. If not keep trying until you do. Once you have discovered a wayshrine you can use it freely.

Join a cross alliance guild, or two. You can be in 5. GL

    Hey there brian.a.coffeeub17_ESO,

We're glad to hear you were able to progress! If you run into a similar issue again, please ensure that you /bug it. This will send data to our developers to ensure that all of the writs are reachable. Thanks for your patience!

I guess I didn't consider it a bug so much as a suggestion. Seems illogical that you can pick up the writ at any board in any town that has one, but you have to turn it in to one specific location.

Porting to player isn't necessary, you can walk around Fort Virak - circle it from east and north and then climb up to the road. There isn't any place you can't walk to at level 10 except Coldharbor and Craglorn (and you can port to Coldharbor, which leaves Craglorn as the only zone you couldn't possibly reach).

Turn-in locations overrun by enemies are a bigger problem. I think Velyn Harbor is like that, you can sneak past but generally it's gated behind a level ~30 quest.

wait. really?! I tried running everywhere around Fort Virak and the only thing I found was the bridge through the door that I couldn't open unless I had finished the quest.

Yep. I heard the same complaint before, so I took a character with zero quests done in Stonefalls and checked. It's doable, but not very intuitive.

It would be nice if we could choose the level of the writ depending on the city where we pick up the quest. However, it wouldn't solve the problem of low level characters wanting to do higher level writs. That is fair, I think. Any surveys you receive will be in that high level zone as well, so it's a higher risk-reward scenario. Alchemy is curious, though. Plants don't have levels, so keeping writs low level would actually be beneficial. I always have loads of low level water.
