You could try blocking them yourself by the preferences the forums give you?

Hint: "Notify me when people comment on my discussions."

Profile -> Edit Profile -> Notification Preferences -> Notify me when people comment on my discussions

Maybe look for the obvious first, before spamming the forums. Maybe even try the search function:

No because I want to know when people post in my other discussions?

Moreover I will still get hundreds of notifications in my "Profile" which impedes me from reading notifications in posts that matter since they get lost in the spam.
