Heavy Armor 1.61 viable for Sorcs? (...in Cyrodiil?)

Hello,

I've been that crazy high elf running with tanky build in Cyrodiil aaaand: it was a complete waste of time (In 1.4 I think). *** kinda forced me into LA, which was a really good move 8-)
Now with champion points and some ppl starting to stack armor and some getting away from their pyjama tank style, you think a magica based sorc will be able to benefit from heavy armor? (mobility, survivability --> leading big groups) Any experience with that? Sword + Board -> Invade, Blocking ... Anti-Archer ...

I'm just getting started on PTS so I wonder if someone can offer me advice, I'd really appreciate a discussion about heavy armor sorcs

5/7 being heavy and 2/7 being light I wouldnt see why not as long as you managed your resources perfectly.

I guess you start by looking at what has actually changed. As far as I can tell, heavy just got spell resistance to match its armor while light armor lost its spell resistance. So heavy is now tankier than light even when it comes to getting hit by spells. Your trade off is that you lose a lot of damage and resource management going heavy rather than light.

in heavy you get some more max health (1% pr piece if I remember correctly ) and health regen (in combat?) as well as armor and spell resist.
and as far as I know many have been experimenting with 2 heavy and 5 light.

The answer is absolutely not. Its terrible. Heavy is still garbage in PvP aside from baiting people for your group or other nich uses like that.

From my experiences on the PTS thus far heavy armor is much more versatile, it's obviously meant for tanking first but with the right stat/gear setup I can easily see some good heavy armor DPS builds coming out post 1.6.
