Changes needed to make ESO better... Also keep it as a Sub Only Game!

    • Keep the game as Sub Only.

You get that this probably has nothing to do with the state of the game, right? It has everything to do with Microsoft not backing down off of requiring an XBL subscription and a cut of Bethesda's subscription fee to make it happen.

The only way to keep the game Subscription only would have been to scratch the XBone release.

Square Enix are putting a lot of pressure on to Microsoft for FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Sooner or later Microsoft will agree. They always do, look at what they did with Apple.

The B2P Model with the F2P Model is not the worst thing to happen, yes it will make the community bigger, which in principle is a good thing. How Cyrodiil will handle this influx of new players is another thing.

The problem arises when ZOS listen to the community, which they have proved at times they do. The players who have been here from Day One will be the minority, and all the new players using the B2P feature, will be asking for vanity items in the Shop or some other change/improvement that is not needed. This will take much needed real development out of the game to make it better for us Veteran players at End Game.

ZOS have already put a lot of work into the Questing / Solo Play, bigger delves, bug fixes for Quest & Group Questing.

The main point of this post is for End Game Content to be added, improved.

Squeenix have something M$ wants, a large presence in the Japanese market, ZOS have zero leverage with Redmond.

Are you really trying to compare Square Enix, a company with a massive Asian market and, as of time of typing, close to 3 million subscribers to one of their MMO's....

    To....

ZOS, who barely have a fraction of the global market that Square do?

Square have a hell of a lot more to offer Microsoft than ZOS do.

Microsoft gets it's foot in the door with a very large Japanese market with Square, they gain absolutely nothing from ZOS by dropping their fee. In fact, they would lose out.

Within two days of the game's launch, 3.4 million physical copies were sold. Of those sales, 59% were for the Xbox 360 There is a big market value for Microsoft as most of the players for Elder Scrolls were on the XBOX. In June 2013, Bethesda announced that over 20 million copies of the game had been sold.

Now tell me Microsoft should not be interested in the potential from this game. Microsoft have proven to be quite a reasonable company, considering Bill Gates is one of the best human beings on planet!

I doubt that Skyrim's sales are indicative of how much ESO will sell.
ESO will not be a platform seller for Xbox. (like Pokemon is for Nintendo)

But this doesn't matter, though, because since Xbox doesn't really have any competition for ESO yet, even with a susbcription and xbox live, it will get sold and gain subs.
