I've seen the PTS and how we now show the three variables for horses, but I didn't see how it handled my account.
If I've trained a mount to SPEED on one character (max) and STAMINA on a couple horses for a different character are they all combined?
- First, any character that had one or more horses pre-1.6 will still have at least one horse for that character.
- If they were different kinds (visually), you will have access to the different skins, just as you do now.
- Your other horse money does not need to be refunded, as you will still have your investment come 1.6. In fact, it will be an even better horse than it was in 1.5.
- Your investment in multiple horses per character, presumably for speed, stamina, and capacity will be merged into any mount you use from that point on. Your horse will be all it was, plus more.
- This will vary by character, via riding skill, the same as it currently varies by character via different horses.
- The only way you have lost money is if you have leveled a hybrid horse (1/2 speed, 1/2 stamina, for instance), along with a full speed and/or full stamina horse.
Riding skill (Feedings in 1.5) are character based, just as the horses are.
For the complaints about $ lost , you are saving from 12,500g - 37,500g on any future mount, as they will automatically get these stats.
Your $'s not gone. It's simply been moved from 3 shoe boxes to one shoe box. Feel free to count it, it's all still there.
So... if I go buy 3 hours with my 10g each imperial edition on Character #2 and FEED them say STAMINA for the next xx days.
Then those Stamina go into my account wide "riding skills" then?
I've two bought today with one being mostly 10g with max Cargo and one Fast Horse with max SPEED (Like 75%).
I'm trying to see if I can make my life easier prior to 1.6 releasing.

What are you going to do when you finally quite the game? Demand compensation for all the time spent playing it? lol.

So that's 5 months worth of potions, its far from a petty thing. What are you going to do when you finally quite the game? Demand compensation for all the time spent playing it? lol.
I'm not quitting the game, I am having items taken away from me without my permission. In game gold represents time, if you can't see the value of time...

It's time spent playing a game. The value is in the entertainment of playing the game. Therefore, you got the value afforded by playing the game. At some point you will stop playing the game and all will be lost. If you want something more valuable for your time then do something that makes real money. However, if you insist on being upset over fake money go right ahead. Don't let me interrupt your misery.

I'm mildly annoyed, but I bought my first "fancy" horse back in May, and my most recent one in November. I can't really argue that I should get a refund on a horse I've been using for months .
If people have multiple horses of the same type, then they could sell their duplicate horses back at the Stable before 1.6 goes live. They won't get back the cost of the feedings, but at least they'll get back the initial 42k gold outlay. This won't work, however, if you need to use those expensive horses to get your 50 points of Speed, Stamina, and Carrying on each character. (Although read this, there may be a bug with horse stats.)
Then again... I'm a little uncertain why someone is so upset to have lost in-game money. I've chosen to spend my gold on all sorts of rubbish, such as spending 45k gold on an Imperial Motif because I couldn't be bothered to look for one or the, uh, 28k gold I spent on a blue Level 23 Signet of the Warlock. If you've had the horse for months and your characters have had the use of the horse all this time, why do you expect to get a refund now?
If it upsets you that much, then sell all but one of each expensive horse now and buy an Imperial or Palamino horse to train in each stat. You'll get back the 42k that the expensive horses cost, lose the 12250 gold that you spent training them to Level 50, and have to spend another 12250 gold training the 1 gold horse to Level 50. Still, you'll make back about half of what you would have "lost" if you waited until 1.6 went Live.

I can count to potato.

To be fair I can see how some people would see this as a loss. Let's say theoretically that person A (maybe this is Kelly's situation) likes black horses and chooses to drop 42k 8 times so all of her characters can ride a black horse. Let's say person B (Slurg) likes black horses too but is cheap and prefers to hoard her gold instead so she buys cheap horses for all of her characters. The 1.6 announcement comes out and Slurg says woo-hoo, now I can buy one black horse and all my characters can ride it and I get to keep all that gold I hoarded! But it would be a fair reaction for Kelly or anyone else in that situation to be disappointed they spent all that money when they didn't really need to in the long run. Yes people who bought the extra horses get the benefit of having used those horses over the past 10 months or however long, and they will get the riding stats transferred to each character, but a couple months from now with daily training we'll all have the same riding stats but people who didn't buy multiples of the premium horses will have spent a lot less gold.kelly.medleyb14_ESO wrote: »I'm not quitting the game, I am having items taken away from me without my permission. Nothing is getting "taken away" from you. You'll still have access to everything you had before, and more. You aren't losing anything, and are therefore not entitled to compensation.
What is happening is that others are gaining access to things they did not have before, for free, and you are simply annoyed that you paid for things that are now being given to others for free.
Big difference there.

MMO's evolve and change. with that comes losses and gains. no 1 mill gold is not petty all at once. but over the course of the game it is petty. this is about the big picture not refunding every dollar you ever spent over the course of the year. I am going to assume you are an avid player of the game because you bought so many horses and had the money to do so. so you should also know that it is not to difficult to get 42k in a single day. so you spent a day to get a horse you wanted and were able to use it for how long. that is really not so bad. What i am annoyed with is so many people thinking that they are entitled to something every time a change happens in a game that requires a different approach to the game. you still get to use your horse the same way. in fact, think of it this way you paid all that gold to get a horse that you never have to switch out for another one. plus, you still get all the benefits of that you would normally have. nothing really changes other than the fact that people want something in return for the evolution of the game. come on.

When the new system kicks in, I will have taken each stat as high as I can in the time allowed. Before this, I simply maxed speed on each horse, so those were done anyway. Why would you buy two horses for the same character and max the same stat? Just because you wanted a different looking horse with the same stat. You aren't losing that, you will still have it in the new system.

@Erock25 , understood. I get it that it sucks to have paid 42k for +10 of a stat (which is what it translates too).Merlin13KAGL wrote: »@Inco , let me see if I can clear this up once and for all, including the explanation for everyone else about why you're really not losing the money you think you are.I'm confused. The problem people have is that the reason to spend 42k or whatever it was on the SPECIAL mount (aka a mount with a 10 point bonus in any stat) was that they could reach a higher max stat because of this. No matter how often you fed your regular horse the speed food, the speed horse would reach a higher maximum. This bonus is now gone and you can keep feeding your horse (no reaching level 50 and being max level anymore and therefore no more upgrades) until they reach max in each stat category so therefore that 42k was all wasted besides the fact that you didn't have to pay for those 10 feedings.
